“Beautiful room, great service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2014

Expensive for El Salvador but probably cheap compared to anywhere else. The rooms and the property itself are beautiful, with a nice pool, and the staff are very nice. We just stayed one night and had dinner there and breakfast (which was included). Dinner was good but not mind-blowing.

I have stayed twice and although a bit pricy for El Salvador is definitely worth the extra money. Beautiful hotel in an incredible setting. The restaurant serves good food. Charming patio and impressive art collection.

Room Tip: pay extra for the suites

We visited this gorgeous hotel when passing through Suchitoto. When discussing whether to take the suite or double room, the member of staff offered us the suite for the same price as it was low season. Delicious breakfast included and had dinner there one night which was also gorgeous! Loved it.

We loved this hotel so much that we extended our stay. It's a gorgeous boutique hotel in a very relaxed, safe, progressive town. We stayed in a suite that had two floors and could have slept 4 people. Giant bathroom. Eclectic art collection. The balcony overlooked the pool, the lake, and the mountains. The grounds are exquisitely landscaped. The staff are kind and hard-working and were eager to talk to us about El Salvador. We loved that the owners were accessible and friendly and a wealth of information. Arranging transport was super-easy. Also, people at the front desk speak English, which is unusual in ES. And yes, this hotel is expensive for ES, but in the US it would probably cost four times more. Can't say enough great things about this place. (only drawback is the unbearable heat - but luckily the AC works great in the room). Totally worth the money.

Room Tip: The "apartment" is a two-floor suite (as is the Honeymoon Suite) and is well worth the ext...

I enjoyed my "too short stay" in this beautiful boutique hôtel in the heart of Suchitoto !
taste and authentic decor permit to relax and enjoy the charming "Pueblo Vivo" (nice little pool, friendly bar and patio where you can enjoy tasty meals and Salvadorian's speciality ...)
An ideal place when you visit beautiful El Salvador ...
Pascal, a French citizen and his partner (precedent Ambassador in Paris) have great taste ! both are enthousiastic about the country ...

Room Tip: The duplex is perfect for family !

i agree with the people who write that the place is very pretty. but it feels very uncomfortable to stay because of the two owners who are always everywhere in the hotel. they even hang big pictures of themselves in the front. in a good hotel, the guest should feel like the important person, but they walk around like they are the important ones and it can feel like you are trespassing in their house.

We are surprised and feel sorry for the opinión of Gary P. We are a small Boutique-Hotel, with a lot of personal antics and pieces of art, that we have collected in our previous life around the world. We spend 15 hours per day working in the place, attending the guests, surveying the atentión of the personal to the clients, and checking all the details, so that the guests can enjoy an unique and personal experience. We efectivly have a big family painting, with our dog, at the reception, at the entrance of the hotel! Nothing prepotent in this, but a wink to the old mansións with family arms and portraits of grandfathers...! We do not deny that our place is a family place, where clients feel like 'at home', but colonial style, the contrary of an impersonal chain hotel, where probably Gary would have been more confortable.

I visited Los Almendros with a friend and really enjoyed our time. The staff was very attentive and the grounds terrific. The staff took us to the local waterfall and waited while we toured which was terrific. The rooms were comfortable although the bed spreads could use a little updating. The breakfast was delicious.

Suchitoto was a very nice town. Quite small and easy to navigate. The lake was really enjoyable to tour, as well as the surrounding areas.
