“A must see”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

If you're visiting Bitola you simply have to visit such a historically significant place as Heraclea. You'll be able to see ruins of the ancient Heraclea and many interesting artefacts from ancient period.

“Ancient Ruins Tour”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

This was one of the many ancient ruins that I visited in Macedonia, Montenegro, and Albania and it was definitely one of the neatest. Helpful staff with plenty of information to give and just like most of the other ruins had well marked signs explaining what everything was. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 rating is because I preferred the ruins of Stobi a few hours east. They were a little more secluded and comprised a much larger area. They are both must sees for Macedonia.

“a glance”
Reviewed 10 January 2014

If your road passes by the town of the monastery you can take a look. And if you want to relax there is always the casino.

“Not great”
Reviewed 4 November 2013 via mobile

I was disappointed with Heraclea. It is not a large ruin nor exceptional, with the exception of the Basilica mosaic floor. The site is poorly cared for and poorly presented. The admission fee is low but if you want to take pictures it is three times as high.

It is worth a visit if someone passes through Bitola.

- Preparation: Be prepared with some background information before you get there.
- Location: Beautiful. Close to the national road to the Greek border. Thirty minute walk or 10 minute drive from the city centre of Bitola.
- Admission cost: 1,60 Euro.
- Photos: You have to pay 5 Euros if you want to take photos.
- Museum: It is a small museum.
- Duration of visit: An hour.

-Recommendation: Not really for the disabled or kids in push chairs. Wear comfortable shoes!
