“Lovely place, but not for kids”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

The hosts are very helpful and friendly. They live there too so it's like one house where they rent out a few of the rooms. One can hear everything in the other rooms, so not a good place for kids who inevitably make a lot of noise. The views are spectacular. There is much to see and do in Ohrid, but it is not cheap!

Room Tip: All have sea view but are not really suitable for more than 2 persons, the rooms are small so an ext...

We stayed here for 1 night in March. We arrived via a hire car and found it very difficult to find the apartments through the tiny one way streets of the old town and our UK Sat Nav not recognising that Ohrid had any roads! A local taxi driver spotted our distress and went out of his way to help us find the apartments.
The owner, Pavel "Pops" was extremely welcoming and hospitable right from the start. On our arrival he provided us with a cup of coffee and a bottle of white wine, together with glasses and a cork screw. We stayed in Room 1 and were the only guests that night. The room had a lovely view of Lake Ohrid with a large balcony with an even better view of the lake. We wished we'd been there in summer, although we were lucky and had sunny weather and sat out on the balcony. The bathroom was on 3 levels and was clean. We had a very good nights sleep on a very comfortable bed. The floor was stone and cold so I recommend you take slippers if you go outside summer. Pavel had the customer care aspect just right, on hand if you wanted him with any help he could give, but also respected our privacy. In the morning he spotted us on the balcony and offered us tea and coffee. He also allowed us to leave our luggage in the room after check out time as there weren't any guests due in that day. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
The apartments are in a perfect location, right in the very hilly heart of the Old Town, within walking distance of everything. Highly recommend these apartments based on our experience. If you are travelling by car make sure you have directions or call Pavel on your way in.

Me and my family had a great time in Ohrid. Pavel is an incredibly friendly and helpful host.
The rooms are tastefully decorated. Every room has its private terrace, which is covered with flowers. Furthermore, the view of Lake Ohrid from the terraces is spectacular! There is a common kitchen where you can make your own breakfast or you can go to the restaurants, which are in 5 minutes walk. Grebnos Stone House is centrally located in the old town, so you can easily find every historical monument.

So, if you like beautiful nature and quietness, I highly recommend you to stay in Grebnos Stone House …and you will always return there.

Thank you Pavel for everything! I will be back.

We had a great time at Grebnos Stonehouse. Pavel showed us around en told good things about Ohrid. The first day Pavel took us to Trpecja and Stefan made us a very nice meal. Wonderfull fish with salad and delicious garlic bread.
The lake was beautiful and Ohrid town had very nice places to eat and drink.

Pavel, thank you for a all the things you did for us and Tom is your friend!

We had booked a stay for a week in July, but luckily we managed to prolong it to twelve days. The place is wonderful, centrally located in the old town. We had a private terrace covered with flowers, overlooking lake Ohrid. In combination with the friendly and helpful host, mr Pavel Pop, this is the place to go for.

The place had a personal touch. The room was tastefully decorated and had a small fridge. There was a common kitchen where you can make your own breakfast or other meals if you want it.

Thank you, Pavel Pop!

Room Tip: Go for room no 1. It has the biggest terrace

A good friend of mine from Macedonia invited me to Ohrid, and our first choice of place to stay was Grebnos! I had read an article about the place in National Geographic, and found it just as promised: beautifully decorated (yet rustic and true to its surroundings), a prime location, comfortable beds, and the best view around. The owner, Pavel, also helped arrange transportation from Skopje, and shared his dinner with us when we arrived! He also has a few good stories to share, and is very hospitable. I warmly recommend staying here!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room for more privacy (if you prefer!)

I stayed at the Grebnos Stone Hause for a week in May this year, but have only just got round to writing a review. I stayed with my mum and my boyfriend, we have booked two rooms. She was really kind to show me how lovely the hotel and of course the rest of Ohrid really is.

She wasn't wrong, Ohrid is beautiful. It's a fascinating and incredibly relaxing place to holiday, and the Grebnos just made our break even more fantastic.

The location is great. Overlooking the azure harbour, you can sit on the terrace in the shade or the sun, and watch the boats go by with a cold Macedonian beer. The hotel is walking distance to the old town, the walk is very scenic once you reach the top of the hill . The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. This is definitely what you would call a 'peaceful' hotel, and is full of character.

The owner Pavel its so accommodating and professional, but also genuinely friendly and a pleasure Person!! He gave us lots of advice and suggested places to visit. Our room was nr.1 and nr.3, well-equipped, clean and beautifull.

For me was the best Holiday in my Life!!!

Pavel thank you for everything! We gona visit you next Year, this for sure!!!!!
