“Nice place, expensive electricity”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Great place, nice pool, house was clean and have everything we needed. I thought the price was great until check out. I was charged $177.60 on electricity for three nights. This is what I might pay for electricity and water for the month. We didn't even spend a full day at the house only in the nights. The total price was way more expensive. I would not return to that place again. The service was good but I'll give it a low rate because of the electricity.

It is unfortunate that this customer feels this way. A PayPal refund was processed for the electricity over charge. The customer thanked us. Part of his charge was a cleaning fee which was agreed to in advance. The electricity charged was $30.00 for his total stay. We have been waiting for him to modify his Review as promised. Nothing to date.

My resent stay at Guava Grove was wonderful. I travel alone and like to stay in quiet secluded places Guava Grove meets my needs. The studio I stayed in was well equipped. The kitchenette was well stocked with the everyday items one needs to fix a meal. The Queen bed was heaven. The pool is my favorite place to hang out. The pool water is crystal clear and very refreshing. There is a lounge area next to the pool that is out of the sun. I like to go there and read a book, on my iPad of course, or catch up with goings on at home. Or do nothing but daydream. If I want to go into West End or into town to Coxen Hole it's just a short walk down the hill to hale a taxi. If I want to go snorkeling its a 5 minute walk to the beach. Keep on going and you can have lunch or dinner at the Blue Bahia. I have booked a return trip for this Sept. Guava Grove is the place for me to go. I feel safe. There is wifi. The facility is very clean. It is close to attractions. The gardens are to die for.

My sister and I stayed at Guava Grove recently and had a wonderful and above all relaxing time. We stayed at one of the studios, which turned out to be a little smaller than the pictures on bookings.com suggest, however it was big enough for the two of us (not sure how four people, unless with kids, would have managed though, as the booking information reads the studio fits up to 4 adults). The location of the place is great, set amid a lush well-kept garden up a hill, and although it feels pleasantly secluded, it's close enough to West End and West Bay to be able to enjoy the beach, diving and many restaurants, all within a 15-minute super cheap cab ride. The pool is nice and refreshing and has an amazing view. The pool deck could definitely use some fixing-up though (wood is splintering and some nails are sticking out here and there, so you have to watch where to put your feet). The manager told us that's in the works, so should be better soon. In general the staff was friendly and helpful, and did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Some cleaning service during our stay would have been nice (especially towels), but I guess that's done once a week and we only stayed for 4 nights. Overall we enjoyed our stay and if you are looking for a nice and quiet hideaway, Guava Grove is a good option.

My wife and I had stayed at Guava Grove for 5 wonderful months. My favorite thing about the place is the huge pool that was always clean, someone would clean the pool twice a week. The landscaping of this place is absolutely bliss. There are dozens of loaded guava trees all over the property, hence "Guava Grove". I must give kudos to Miguel for his great work on the landscaping. His presence was much appreciated. For those photographers, have your cameras ready the wildlife is awesome, there are monkey lala lizards (aka: jesus lizard) all over. We stayed in Apt #1 it was cozy and it was home, we felt safe there. We would refer this place and have to anyone visiting Roatan. I would like to thank Cheryl and Murray for there hospitality and we want you to know we will be back!

We are so pleased you both enjoyed the accommodations and pool at Guava Grove and that you have a valued appreciation for the floral and fauna of the grounds. Miguel truly does the property justice with his green thumb!

Home is where you heart is and we are glad you were at home at Guava Grove.

Please do come back and stay with us again.

Two weeks at Guava Grove in January was the perfect get away from the cold Alberta weather. We went with one other couple and rented the house at Guava Grove and enjoyed relaxing at the pool. I especially liked having coffee on the deck looking out at the beautiful ocean view every morning. We were just a few minutes walk from the beach where you can snorkel and swim every day. Guava Grove gives you lots of privacy and is just a few minutes car ride from a fun day of zip lining, shopping at the beach and watching the dolphins. Its a great place to spend your vacation.

The Guava Grove efficiency apartment I stayed in for 2.5 months was very reasonably priced and more than adequate for my needs. The pool was a delight to swim in daily and the owners are warm and friendly people.
