Not only do Kent and Lisette provide clean and well stocked accommodations, they work hard to protect the island and it's wildlife both on land and in the ocean through out the marine park.

They are very welcoming and provide anything you could possibly need in their quaint resort.

There are countless way to enjoy the sunsets from their multiple decks to the pier with a cold rum punch in hand.

The Blue Bahia restaurant provides the fresheest food and a wide variety of island style beverages.

The on site dive shop is well equiped for all your diving and snorkeling needs. The diving staff and crew are friendly and attentive to your safety and providing interesting diving experiences.

If diving is not for you, try the snorkling from the Blue Bahia beaches. They have calm waters a close reef and diverse aquatic encounters.

We highly recommend your stay with Kent & Lisette at the Blue Bahia. If you choose another location to stay, be sure to stop by and visit and experience the excellent cuisine and amazing hospitality.

We love Kent and Lisette and are looking foward to our next visit.

Happy travels!

I just returned home from a week at the Blue Bahia resort in Roatan, HN where I had an incredible week of hospitality and service.

It is my second trip there, our first being just this past February. I can't wait to go back.

Kent and Lisette, the owners, treat each guest with individual hospitality and care, going well beyond ordinary service expectations. You feel like a welcomed family member treated like Royalty. There was no request that was too minor to merit immediate attention, from calling a ride, offering a ride, serving up a fresh Monkey LaLa (a must have drink...) or even getting me an extension cord for my computer so that I could write from the patio overlooking the ocean and not need to depend on my computer's battery. Run out of bug spray? No problem. A coffeeholic? Not to worry, the pot is on 24/7. Fresh pineapple? But of course, it is part of the daily continental plus breakfast which some days has fresh caramel donuts baked by Moses' mom and deliverd by young lad Moses himself.

Air conditioning was always available for when the heat got to be too much, but the hammock on the porch was just wonderful most of the time.

Need to go in the water to cool off? The ocean is just a few steps further away than the pool, and if you snorkel, you will enjoy visiting the resident octopii.

I could continue...the sunsets are spectacular, and oh the food, how could I forget the food? Five starts without leaving the resort. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, but the pizzeria just up the driveway has a great gorgonzola and shrimp pizza.

I am planning my next trip back.

If you want a comfortable warm feeling for a private places away from the crowds this is the place to go.

Kent and Lisette the owner take personal care of the guest

There staff is well trained, polite and takes care of you needs.

The food is good for real not in a micro way. The menu covers the boards with lots of great local fresh seafood dishes.

The condo type rooms very in side and shape - we were a party of thirty (30) and it was very comfortable.

We plan on return - hopefully once a year.

If you are looking to fulfill a dream of overlooking a beautiful beach, watching a spectacular Caribbean sunset, while enjoying an incredible meal with caring service then all you need to do is make reservations for dinner at the Blue Bahia Resort.

Owners Kent Burnes and Lisette Steber know hospitality and they know how to create a special place that is comfortable and special. The resort has been beautifully developed creating a very cozy place that is intimate and private. The overall form of the development creates a sense of community and security while opening itself to the spectacular beach it fronts.

Our room was beautifully appointed with the largest and most comfortable king-sized bed we have ever slept in. We had views of the ocean on three sides, a nice sitting area separate from the bedroom and a well-equipped kitchenette (however, there is no reason to cook anything in your room when the restaurant serves up a delicious and eclectic menu from island seafood to smoked meats).

With a dive shop right on the premises you can take great advantage of the fantastic diving and snorkeling adventures which start right at Blue Bahia’s own beach. Just a leisurely snorkel down the coast brings you to Anthony’s Key where you can share the water and fun with the very friendly porpoises and there is a coral reef just a couple of hundred yards offshore.

While you can find other resorts on Roatan that are right on the water and serve food, you will not find one like Blue Bahia with its unique and specially designed rooms, restaurant and grounds and its friendly owners and staff who genuinely care that your stay is exceptional, restful and memorable. And, you will not find any better food on the island.

Blue Bahia Resort’s location provides easy access to many of Roatan’s attractions, shopping and services including the West End and the airport.

One word of advice, if you can, book a two-week stay at the Blue Bahia Resort because you will not want to leave after just one week.

As a party of five adults and three toddlers, we started off at a different residential house on Sandy Bay Beach, a short distance from the Blue Bahia. Due to circumstances we moved to two of the Blue Bahia’s one bedroom suites. Overall we found a lovely cozy and home-like setting for the children with an atmosphere of safety as the suites form a natural enclosure around the pool each one with their door facing the center of the Blue Bahia focal point, wisely designed. Doing medical volunteer work at a different location in Sandy Bay for a month, I can verify that blackouts are not just at the Blue Bahia but along whole sections of the island and are unavoidable as are sand fleas on Sandy Bay. Agreeing with other reviews, the Blue Bahia is a five star boutique small resort setting, not a hotel so if you want that kind of setting, you will be disappointed. However if you want friendly and personalized consideration, Kent and Lisette and their staff will provide it.
There was construction going on but it was not a problem, neither noisy nor dirty. The individual suites were clean, the water did not have septic or sewage smell as in other places and there were no bugs or ants in the kitchens or bathrooms.
The restaurant menu was varied with plenty of choices. The housekeeping was daily, thorough and satisfied the needs of a family with small children.
Having a restaurant on the premises is a major advantage since taxi’s and collectivos are the major source of transportation in this part of the island which is not within walking distance to the major hub of the west end or Coxen Hole. However this location provides the peace and humbleness of the local character as opposed to the typical touristy areas of the island with the typical “hotel look and feel”.
Use of the Blue Bahia’s computer was readily offered upon request and the casual and open ambiance set by Kent and Lisette lent to the assumption if a guest asked and it was reasonable, it shall be done.
If you do not like sand fleas, wear long sleeves and pants in the hot sun, even Deet does not work, they are everywhere on this part of the island. If you cannot deal with the inconveniences the locals live with such as daily blackouts, stay home or stay in a major hotel on the other side of the island where the cruise ships dock.
However, if you want a non-touristy atmosphere, the beach within a few yards, an informal condominium-like setting for one or multiple families, Kent and Lisette provide such an atmosphere. We are appreciative of the attention and efforts made toward a cake to celebrate a nine year old’s birthday in a foreign country…it was very special.
Thank you Kent, Lisette and their staff. We shall return…just don’t get too popular that we are turned away.
