This is a more upscale restaurant than most on WE and is located just out of WE heading toward West Bay. The food is a work of art, and the owner takes great pride in producing delightful dishes that will please the palate. Still a laid back atmosphere with an amazing treetop view.

“Spicy was the name of the game but owners quickly extinguished the fire”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

This restaurant came highly rated with locals and trip advisor. Although it is a little out of town we decided to take the 2 minute cab ride (which is $5 each way). We would have walked but a lot of warning from everyone made us think twice even though we feel that our time in New Orleans prepares us for living a little on the edge. The space is new and clean and has a pretty deck over looking a pool that is charming. The place was relatively full for a Thursday night in the summer. The menu changes regularly which is why I'm sure it's a hit with locals, and the all the food uses ingredients local to the area. Neither of us were interested in the meat options so we both tried asian infused meals including the Red Curry and Mongolian Noodles. When we got our food it looked and smelled delicious but upon tasting each meal they were SUPER SPICY! (And we are from Louisiana where spice is part of life!) The mongolian noodles did have an edge of sweetness that tamed the fire but the Red Curry was like lighting a candle on your tongue.
The proprietress Loren is hands on in the restaurant and asked how the meal was. We warned her that anyone else other than us might have sent the dishes back because they were so so spicy.
She came back saying that she'd tried them and that someone in the kitchen must have over spiced the dishes and she offered free dessert for us both to tame our fire tongues.
She was so sweet and helpful and even the best restaurants can have adventuresome chefs that might over do the heat. The problem was generously solved and will likely never happen again.

“Roatan Oasis”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Dined with Lauren last night and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Every restaurant has a story and we enjoyed hearing how this restaurant evolved. Her first idea was to run a deli out of a container, and now it's a three story building with a great bar and a local following of ex-pats who dine there weekly. "Oasis" is a perfect name as the variety of dishes represented makes it an oasis for fans of many cuisines. I had the potato gnochhi with loads of fresh chopped basil and crumbled bacon. It came with a wonderful side salad that was as fresh and colorful as I've ever been served. My date had the singapore noodles with chicken and shrimp and raved on it all the way home. Not to go unmentioned is the simple fact that our meals were pleasing to our vacationing tummies, which have been a bit sensitive to some of the dishes we've had while on Roatan. The prices were quite reasonable by American standards and well worth the dining experience we enjoyed. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that the location. It's pleasant, but not extraordinary.

“A little bit of everything”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Roatan Oasis was recommended to us by a local friend last year. It was a great suggestion, and luckily it is more clearly marked now and the cab drivers are more familiar with the location. We had to go back this year. The menu is constantly changing, and there are always vegetarian and vegan friendly options (and they are very considerate to food allergies.) The selections range from BBQ to Italian to Indian and everything in between. The food is really fresh, made from scratch, and decently priced. They have craft beer options which is rare on Roatan, and the cocktails are great, especially those made with the homemade ginger beer!
