I like it very much, fair price, the hotel is in front of the sea, they also have a great restaurant where ate, meat & seafood. the staff was very kind, good attention. Also good location in West End.

I stayed here for a week, following a week of a rather horrible experience at Casa del Sol nearby.

First of all, Posada Arco Iris has (at least) two blocks. One is at the front, facing the sea, and other at the back with no seaviews. Make sure you know which one you are booking.

I had a room in the front building, not the room facing directly onto the beach but still with a good seaview from the balcony (with hammock). Decent sized room (double bed and a single bed), nicely decorated, and with a fridge which I would suggest is essential if you're staying in a place like Roatan. This is by no means a boutique experience or a luxury hotel. (Those hotels in the West End are found slightly further away from the bars, restaurants and shops...oh, and the "beach" - those hotels are right on the sea, but there are no beaches there.)

It was a little noisy at night, because of the generator close by. But nothing compared to the insane dogs barking all night at Casa del Sol.

Wifi is available, but it did not seem to reach some rooms, as I often saw other guests sitting outside the "Office" to get signal. Luckily I did not have this problem.

If I were to ever go back to Roatan, I think I might try staying in West Bay, where there are big hotels on the beach (the beach in West Bay is more along the lines of what you would expect to see when staying on a Caribbean island). I stayed in West End because that was where all the bars and restaurants were (and the diving). Having stayed there, however, I now also know that there are water taxis all day long between West End and West Bay (USD1.50, 10mins).

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the building at the front of the hotel grounds, for a sea view.

The room was certainly luxurious but with in a surprisingly mid price (Although Roatan is not cheap). Huge, bright, with wooden floors and very very clean. But... in the cleanest place of our trip, cockroaches visited the bathroom a couple of times. This is a problem of the island as we were said.

We spent a week at Posada Arco Iris. The room was spacious, clean, and so comfortable. This is truly a tropical gem in plain view, but tucked away in a jungle setting. It rained a bit and there were so many mango/ tropical trees surrounding our room, we weren't able to see the rain, but could only hear the rain drops hitting the leaves. Talk about relaxing! The hotel is conveniently located directly across from the beach and they provide lounge chairs for their guests. The staff are friendly too! We will be returning!

We stayed at Posada Arco Iris for about a week. It was wonderful and the staff was really nice! The rooms were clean and we received new towels daily. The hotel is right across from the beach. It has nice beach chairs also. The location was great and the hotel rate can't be beat. It is located in West End but its more towards the end so it wasn't noisy or very busy. Also, there is a store right next door which is very convenient! I would highly recommend this place. We plan to return to Posada Arco Iris!

This hotel is in the perfect location. It is beach front, very near Sundowner's, with a delicious restaurant and very helpful and friendly staff. Very laid back. I love the free kayaks. Been there twice now, plan many return visits. Agree with WednesdayandGreg's review: basic but clean. If you are hoping for a resort feel, you will not like this place.

Room Tip: Second floor has fewer insects.

Beach front property near the Sundowner Bar and Grill. I've stayed here a couple of times. You can get rooms with A/C or just fans. Rooms are clean and well maintained. They do have wifi but if you're in the back, it's up and down throughout the day although outages tend to be short lived (minutes). They have propane stoves but they're not autolighting and there are no matches supplies. Either bring a lighter or buy matches in town.

Mattresses are old but still okay (not lumpy or broken). Should you need something fixed, they'll work to sort it out that day. They have snorkel gear and canoes free for guests. Those who dive are located near many dive shops so you don't have to haul it far. There's a restaurant / bar in the front or you can walk a few minute through town and see what's open.
