“Wonderful!”
Reviewed 6 March 2011

We just spent a wonderful but short week with Mariela and staff at the Seagrape Plantation and give it our highest regards. The location is great on the very end of West End, nice and quiet, great pool, clean rooms and never a problem with water, hot or cold. I don't think there is anything they won't do to help you with whatever you may need and they go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and in the accommodation you want. We had money changed there, rented fins for snorkeling there and got a modem right away so we could use our computer wherever we wanted to. Taxis were arranged for us (we didn't even have to ask for the taxi to the airport) as well as activities. We had some music coming from the Lands End resort next door but that was usually quiet by 10. Our rooms gave us the option of using a fan or A/C, which we appreciated. The first night of our visit we stayed in the hotel and the remainder of the week we spent in a bungalow. If you like a bigger bed, I'd go with the hotel (Mariela tells me she's working to change over the beds in the bungalows). I wondered if we'd miss a beach but really, we didn't at all. The beach is not far away and the pool is very nice if you don't want to walk there. We found the Iron Shore landscaping gorgeous and had a lot of fun hunting for elusive crabs that didn't want their pictures taken. Casa Calico down the road for breakfast makes a great start to your day. If you're looking for a nice place to relax, you can't do better than the Seagrape Plantation.

Seagrape took us in after we left another resort. The rooms were spacious and clean, Mariela was so helpful and the grounds and pool area were beautiful. We had the best time here. It's away from the noise of west end but within easy walking distance. Perfect

It is located about 5 minute walk off of the main strip and close to everything. Our room had a great view of the ocean and a hammock on the balcony. We had our own bungalow and the resort was very quiet and peaceful. There was a pool with an ocean view, and it was very clean. It cost us $60 a night, which i was a little over priced, but I would definitely go back.

My fiancee, his brother and I stayed at Seagrape and dove with them a couple weeks ago. Hotel is simple, rooms are spacious and clean and on the water (we didn't have a bungalow on the water), but it's basically right there. Mariela is extremely helpful (even prior to our arrival). I expected the hotel to be farther away from town, but it was actually a short walk and nice to be away from everything. No bar or restaurant, but Flash Bar at the Land's End resort is a 2 minute walk and a relaxing place for happy hour.Though, West End was not as crowded as I expected. Argentinian Grill was nothing special, Lighthouse pretty good (but stay away from the Lobster dip!), nicest and coziest restaurant was Lily Pond Guesthouse Restaurant, great food, service and extremely cozy and intimate. For a cheap meal, great baleada's on the main street next to Lighthouse entrance.

Dive shop is great, highly recommend to dive with Seagrape. Small groups and everyone who works there is great and helpful. Only negative was the dives were not great, had to go somewhere 10 min away by car since unable to get to the dive sites near the shop due to the choppy water.

Overall, a nice, relaxing experience, though, wished for sunnier skies!

We had a great time at Seagrape. The staff were very helpful and kind. We appreciate that it is located away from the craziness of the town. We enjoyed the quiet. It is not far from where everything is. The room is clean and spacious but definitely lacks character. It did have a strong cleaning product smell on our first day and it took a very long time to get rid of it with windows open and the fan on.There are also bungalows but I wouldn't pay extra to stay there because they are not beach front, more like pool front or too far from the sea. I found the internet too expensive considering it kept getting disconnected. There is always room for parking.

This is a really nice and quiet place to stay in the West End part of Roatan Island. It is a 10 minute walk from the main strip of restaurants/bars in West End along a road that is partly lit and quite bumpy! The room I was staying in was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. There was a fridge in the room and fresh water provided daily. The shower was hot and powerful. There is a nice swimming pool next to the sea and a little platform into the sea which you can swim/snorkel off (although there are better places to snorkel on the island). You can hire out snorkelling equipment from reception for a decent price and the staff can book excursions for you. There are a number of computers with the internet which can be used for a fee. Finally the staff are very friendly and helpful.

I have been traveling to Roatan for the past 7 years and have always stayed at Seagrape Plantation. The Wesley family are both wonderful and very accommodating. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and meticulously maintained. I have stayed in both the bungalows and many of the rooms. The beds are very comfortable, the easy access to town as well as the dive shop makes this the #1 choice of places to stay! I highly recommend Seagrape Plantation on your visit to Roatan.
