Owner description: Stretching from the busy Dayanand Bandodkar Road in the west to the straggle of streets around Souza towers in the east, 18th June Road at the heart of Panaji is a shop-lined paradise if you're seeking brand name clothing at knockdown prices, whilst a web of side streets are packed with smaller stores selling everything from local handicrafts to precious gems.

A busy street...where the locals say as it is one of the commercial streets
Fonthians street:
about this street. . street is of a few steps from here(18th June road). ..but for my surprise, many localites there they themselves don't no where that street is :D
It's situated behind lady immaculate church... An old Portuguese street where we can find their style of architecture...

A trip to goa is not complete without going to Panjim and shopping at 18th June Road is attached to it.

This si the main shopping street and has load to offer from Kaju, Feny, local artefacts, clothes, sweets, pickles etc. At one end of the road is the famous church and you can sit there and relax after shopping.

The famous Kaju shop "Zantey's" is also located on this main road.

Go and explore GOA !!

I walked down 18th June road looking around for anything that was noteworthy, interesting or worth seeing, shopping or visiting. Found very little.
There are a couple of restaurants of which the Ritz was rated highly. Other than that and a few cashew nut shops.... not much.
There are two main roads in Panjim. Datatrey Bandodkar road (a wide avenue along the Mandovi river bank) and 18th June road. Just around the north eastern end of 18th June road is Church Square and the Church of Immaculate Conception which is very pretty.

terrible dirty area, bought a sealed bag of dried fruit and nuts, full of live bugs. I would eat anything from any of he shops I saw there, local people have no idea of hygiene.

If you are looking for an air conditioned department store then head to 18th June Street. Over 3 floors you will find something to buy!The optician in this store is EXCELLENT! The other shops and restaurants offer a great choice of items to browse or purchase. There is the Fidalgo hotel where you can enjoy a cake and coffee Western style when you start to weary!
