We went there two times during our week long stay.
The beach shacks on the beach are very less in number and basic, but enjoyed the food.
Beach is good for swimmers and is full of natural beauty.

We were in Goa after good 2 years. This time this was a family holiday with father in law accompanying us. In fact it was because of him wanting to visit Goa, that we were there on 1st Jan 2014. He had been on a beach vacation 28 years ago to Puri! My husband wanted this beach trip to be a memorable one. We zeroed upon Ashwem Beach depending on the location and the time that we had in hand. Only a day and half to be precise. It was wonderful experience. The resort we stayed gave us beach huts which were on the beach literally. The clear water, the wide beach, the surfers, the families vacationing there and the almost absence of poking ferrywallahs, all made this beach a perfect gateway. FIL got nostalgic because in his last beach vacation, my MIL who is no more, was with him. He just wanted to sit and stare at the sea and waves quietly. he did that till late night when the waves almost came next to his hut. We recommend this to those who are looking to get away from the crazy crowds of Baga, Calangute and Anjuna. About 30km from Panjim, this is one gem in the North Goa for sure.

The 2nd best spot in all of Goa(Palolem being my favourite), by far the best beach in the north of goa. A far cry from the maddening crowds of Baga and Anjuna and the rest, this is the place you can go to for relaxation, introspection and with someone close to you. Once there, Marbela resort is where you can stay and if you are only there for a day trip then you can just relax at the same spot. You need our own transport to get there, it is about 16 Kms from Calangute,a 30 min drive and eating and drinking is quite expensive compared to the rest of North goa but if you want some 'me time' or 'us time' then it is totally worth it!

We wanted to explore some new beaches in north Goa ... We just happened to explore this amazing beach due to a mix up... We initialy planned to visit Mandrem beach and lost our way and ended up in Ashwem beach... Well as the saying goes whatever happens, happens for good... This Beach is simply extraorinary and spectacular... We were happy that there was a mix-up and we ended up on this beach....The beach is not crowded compared to the other north goan beaches and hence it is very clean and well maintained.... A must visit when you are in north Goa....

This beach is located 15 KM away from Mapuca town of Goa. One of the best beaches in Goa. There are many near by good hotels and home stay available. Driving down to this place is a real pleasure. There are multiple picnic spots nearby and multiple locations where less crowded places one can really have fun. I and my family stayed at a home stay and really enjoyed the vacation.
