there is not much to say abt it. A local spring or fountain made these area called as de' Fontainhas! We stayed here for 3 days. good locality, good food, some awesome art galleries, cafe' s - all parallel to Ourem creek. nicely maintained old mansions with Portuguese styled color scheme.

nothing much to say, my pictures would say it all!
worth a visit !

Went into this area after reading in Rough Guide. started by being dropped of by taxi in main town then after several wrong turns arrived at destination Panjim Inn which I had wanted to see rooms. Old hotel with lovely balcony looking out over street-not much room but great just sitting and people watching over the balcony. Rooms old Portuguese style. After a cuppa we headed off towards the rest of area as taxi driver said temple not far away. We walked through the old streets and saw the temple at the top of a steep hill which we walked up and got great view over Panjim. If you are only going into Panjim for shopping then consider a second trip to explore as there are lots of places to see. Next door to Panjim Inn there is the tile place where they sell Portugese style tiles, there is the museum, tile workshop, art gallery, waterfront area, dance/music academy (Kala) and lots more that we have yet to see.Well worth the aching legs to get out and about.
