“Beautiful and historical”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

People go to Goa for two main reasons, the beaches and the historical sights of Old Goa.
I went on this trip to see it's historical sights. Beautiful....
There's so much to see and so much of Goa's history to learn about. Old Goa, north of Panjim is full of exquisite churches. You must visit The Basilica of Bom Jesus, The tomb of St Francis Xavier, Se Cathedral, St Cajetan's church, The ruins of St Augustine's church and there's so much more.

“old, goa, old goa, old goa”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

if you can find and brave the bus (normally ten rupees) this is worth a visit to see the cathedral and basilica of bom jesus etc. If you can stand the heat and short hike, at the ghandi roundabout walk up to Chapel of The Mount - another church at top of hill - which gives amazing views over Old Goa. Enjoy!

“A place away from the Beaches”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

We all love the beaches of Goa there is no doubt about that, but just sometimes it is nice to get away for a few hours away from it all, Old Goa is one of those places to get away too, History lessons to be had when churches are visited as there is usually guides that can take you around, tell you bits of history you may know but may also surprise you with something you didn't know, guides usually about 100RS for an approx just over an hour visit ( for each historical building ) well worth it in our opinion. If you rushed around you could probably see all of Old Goa in a day, but bearing in mind the heat of the day, the areas to cover and taking it all in as far as information is concerned, why would you rush around, take your time, come back another day to see the rest, that way you get to experience the charm of Old Goa yet again.
