The Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Baroque style church was consecrated in 1605. In 1946 it was raised to the status of a basilica.
This is one of the most visited churches in Goa. It is just across the road from the Se Cathedral. In a room beside the basilica is the tomb of St Francis Xavier.
There is no plaster on the stone structure which looks magnificent after a light rain. The colour of the stone really stands out.
