“Much quieter than Palolem”

Found Patnem beach to be much quieter than Palolem - but still plenty of good places to eat. Although the water is warm and clear, it is considerably rougher than Palolem and the beach shelves much more steeply. At low tide, walk around the southern headland onto the next beach - virtually deserted except for the occasional fisherman at the far end, where the sea and the river meet (fishing village here too). The only other develpment here is an upmarket resort - complete with golf course.

the beach is closed to Palolem, much simpler and a lot more quiet, restaurants on the beach front you can find also here and some of those have music at dinner time...

This is a few kms (around 2-3) from Palolem beach. Why Poor .. Not really poor but the sheer beauties that Palolem is famous for is missing. On the good side this beach has far less hawkers and people so you can have a quality time with your family. The water is much rougher than Palolem and the sunsets are not as beautiful in comparison. Parking was a problem here as well because of extremely narrow road approaching the sea. Less shacks and eat outs but overall I will still rate it very good . Walk to the south side and you can perch yourself on the big rocks and have a wonderful view of the beach and the setting sun

Loved south Goa , it's quiet and has a more gentle pace than the north. The beaches are safe and the food is better too.! We recommend to book ahead for a night or two as there are plenty of places to stay. The beach huts are usually great value and with the best views for just chilling out. Just walk along the beaches and find something that suit....
Our mistake was that we did book ahead choosing an apartment in a place at Rajbag village called the Pink Villa but were so disappointed with it .... there were too many stray dogs roaming around in packs at night howling and just shrub land to look so not the "Pamoramic" views we had hoped for... very poor value for Goa ! We soon headed back to the beach huts... bliss !
