My boyfriend and I were in Goa for 2 weeks and started our journey with 2 nights in Panaji at the Panjim Inn. We arranged with the hotel in advance that a taxi would pick us up from the airport, so it made our arrival nice and easy. We arrived in Panaji to find a quaint building in a busy city. The hotel had a lovely room with four poster bed and old oak furniture. There was a juliet balcony to watch the action in the streets.

The room was lovely and airconditioned, had hot water and cable tv. The hotel had breakfast included in the price, which was quite basic, but did the job. The restaurant, however, did amazing food. We had the best lunch of our trip here with a gorgeous vegetarian curry!

This hotel is great for exploring Panaji and the location is great for visiting Old Goa and all its sights and some of the beaches around central / north Goa.

Our stay at the Panjim Inn was brief (only 1 night & we left early for the airport) but we enjoyed it. Professional & helpful staff (who arranged a taxi to the airport for us in the early hours of the morning, & were on hand to help us with bags & send us on our way), a clean well-appointed room (double deluxe in the newer part of the inn) with good traditional furniture, an excellent bathroom & effective air-conditioning. (my only niggle was that the new & fluffy towels left fluff all over!)
It's well located in the charming latin quarter, retaining a laidback & colonial feel.
We didn't eat at the hotel as we wanted to use the little time we had there to explore (& highly recommend the Horseshoe (A Ferradura) restaurant round the corner).

This is a slightly tricky review to write because we were booked into a Superior Room (Rs3600) in the Panjim Inn but, on arrival, were told that we'd been upgraded to a Superior Room (normally Rs7200) in the Panjim Peoples at no extra cost because a large group had just booked into the Inn. We must say that the room was absolutely lovely, and we were very happy staying there, but I'm not sure that we would have been quite as happy if we'd been paying the full rate.

The Panjim Inn is in danger of becoming a victim of its own success as the market-leading heritage hotel in Panjim and we felt in more of a tourist cocoon there than anywhere else on this trip. There is just the slightest hint of complacency creeping into the (over-worked) reception staff although the restaurant/bar staff were delightful at all times. We thoroughly recommend the Panjim Inn. and would definitely make it our first choice if revisiting Panjim, but the owners need to be very careful to maintain standards when the hotel is at maximum capacity (which it seems to be at all times!).

My partner and I stayed for 7 nights at the Panjim Inn as a base for touring Goa.

We did not want a corporate hotel or a 'resort' but wanted to stay in a character hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful with lovely restored Portuguese architecture. The shower/wet room is very nice and the mosaics were pretty.

The staff were not unhelpful but never really volunteered any information or tried to make our stay a memorable one. For example one night a big festival was taking place in the town but this wasn't mentioned to us, it was a taxi driver who told us. Also, we ordered washing which took 4 days to be returned and only came when chased.

The breakfast selection was small with some Indian and some western food (porridge and eggs). On one occasion the waiter knocked on our door at 09:30 to ask us to come down to breakfast although it is available until 10:30.

We stayed in a superior room which means it has a balcony. Unless you will be using this balcony I would recommend going for the cheaper double standard. We did not have a four poster bed (as it leads you to believe on the website) but the bed was massive. The majority of the rooms (including ours) are on a very busy road in Panjim. We got used to the road but it did wake us up early most days due to horns beeping (very popular in India) and engine noises.

The dinner at the hotel was excellent and the candlelit tables in the patio are very romantic.

The location was good with only a few minutes walk into Panjim and a lovely restaurant nearby.

Overall I would say we really enjoyed our stay in Panjim, The level of service was not poor but was not up to 4 star standards particularly as this was one of the more expensive hotels in Panjim. The hotel is beautiful though and having Panjim as a base for exploring Goa was lovely.

Thank you for your review and feedback..While we give our guests a list of activities they could do in Panjim/Goa,Holi and Shigmo festivals are not mentioned and we should have informed you of the same. The wakeup call for breakfast is normally at 10.15 and there is no reason you should have got it at 9.30.While most of our rooms have four poster beds, some do have large antique beds and I guess we were not able to understand your requirements clearly otherwise we should have been been able to give you a room with a four poster bed.
Kindly accept our apologies for the shortcomings in service. We are taking suitable action on your comments and hopefully will live upto your expectations in the future.
