“Worth trying it once”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

River Mandovi meets the sea at Panaji. This river cruise is from the Santa Monica Boat jetty and would take us to the joint where the river meets the sea and then would just move around in this area itself. There are events happening inside the cruise, in its first floor. Goan dances, music etc. There is a semi bar and eateries give away area here.
The top open area of the cruise is where I was all the time watching the river, the sea and Panaji city.

The ticket rates for the cruise - Rs. 200/ head. You can buy the tickets directly from Paradise Cruise office near the jetty or from any of the shops around. Most of the shops in Panaji city along the main road 'Dayanand Mandotkar Marg' would be selling the tickets.
Always check if the tickets are for that day itself.

Timings when the river cruise takes off are 6.30 pm, 7.30 pm, 8.30 pm.
The cruise is for an hour.
Liquor not allowed to be taken inside since they have a bar inside the cruise.
There is a cloak room in the vicinity.

“Waste of Time”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

we traveled from calangute to panaji to enjoy. As soon as we entered panaji the agents of Paradise cruise were waiting for tourists. They told us that the last cruise wll leave in three minutes around 7o'clock.. We paid Rs. 200/head for this cruise in hurry and went to the riverside with them. The road to cruise is very damaged and narrow. once we reached near the cruise there were already around 200 people were waiting in queue. there were only one or two small fans which was not sufficient to handle such a crowd. we stayed in the queue for around 45 min., badly sweating. Once we reached the cruise we were offered seats which was not comfortable at all that also last row. In the name of entertainment one local dance was organized. the song was melodic but dance performed was poor. then the anchor started calling audience on the floor and perform on the DJ. DJ was no more that a audio player. Anchor asked the people who are getting bored please go to bottom floor where there is a AC disco. Entry of women was free and men has to pay again rs 50. there also we found only few boys dancing and we decided to roam on top floor. In last again they gave one performance which was little better than previous one. Somehow we passed our 45 min on the cruise. The cruise which goes in hussain Sagar lake (Hyderabad) is much better than this at only Rs. 75. I hope these people learn some dance from them,

“Not worth the money”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

There are 3 time choices of when you can do the cruise down the Mandovi river. We selected the 6:15 pm cruise. The end-to-end takes about 1 1/2 hours tops.

Some of the sights from the river were spectacular. It would be difficult to get the same view from land.
The pace gives you enough time to soak in the landscape and also enjoy the breeze.
There were 3 folk dances which gives a perspective of the local flavor and lifestyle.

We were packed into the place like sardines.
Other than the 3 dances the rest of the time the DJ / MC was busy stacking up the noise level and no real input on the history of the places that we were seeing etc.

We paid Rs. 200/ person - was it worth it - No.
