the moment one steps inside the premises one is transported into a world beyond what we know of. it is simply stepping into the laps of nature and feel oneness with environment as a whole.

To spend one night inside the jungle, it was really thrilling. U hear the dears and all other wild animals making sounds the whole night. Sleeping in that atmosphere is really an experience for a life time.

We went here in the month of April before the rains had arrived in Kerala. We trekked in the forest for less than two hours (between 1.30pm and 3 pm) with a resourceful guide and got a feel of what means to be in a parched forest. There were different hues of browns all around! The leaves had all shrivelled. The forest floor had layers of dried leaves...

We saw dolmens and were pleasantly surprised to see some cave art from the Iron Ages times. Soon it started to rain a little and it was fun to walk back in the rain as we werent carrying umbrellas.

There is a shop run by the tribals cooperative society. We bought some mustard seeds that were wonderfully tiny and uniformly sized, apparently organic too.

Though we didnt see any wildlife, the experience of walking in the parched jungle with huge cacti trees and wild basil was memorable enough!!

A suggestion would be to carry an umbrella or rain coat if you want to protect yourself from the odd shower for some reason..

We were not lucky to spot any wild animals there even though we went for a trekk inside, maybe we could have chosen a different time.
