This resort cannot be categorised as a resort or a hotel. Its a mere homestay with the facilities which can be given only for homestay.
You should never opt this place for a honeymoon, even if you do select room number 301. This room provides you a view to the old munnar which is a beauty at night and which is the only part good in the room. Cleanliness is very poor. We had got this room for Rs 2800 per night which was not at all worth it.
Do not choose this place if you are looking for a 3 star hotel as this is only a homestay with a mere homestay facilities.

Room Tip: room number 301 for a good scenic view

It's the worst hotel I stayed in south India.Filth, unprofessional, un-hygienic. The front desk is one of the worst. The Keralite manager is polite but without any autority it seems. The front office nepali person is just horrible. He misbehaves and doesn't have the basic courtesy level, I had a mind of reporting him to the Kerala tourism & police deptt., but my family persuaded me to leave it. I think the promoters just don't give a damn about the hotel as they don't have any professional environment at all and keep the property dirty & filthy though the property infrastructure. And the Nepali front office guy might be a waiter and has been promoted to the present position which has made him heady and because is an uncouth fellow he treats everyone badly. Avoid going to this place till the promoters are serious about the hotel and shunt away such uncouth employees. You will get better places at better rates.

I have told my travel plans to Mr. Manager at Poopada for 2 days starting from 16th May to 18th for 4 member family (Father, Mother and my younger brother). He said we can provide double bedroom for a rate of 1800 per day. I have only booked this hotel because this advertised as budget hotel and all the room has balcony and has nice views to the Kannan Devan hills (as they claimed in their web ad). I booked and when I reached there at night 9:30 PM everything was fine, manager said the room I booked is in 3rd floor and the lift is not working so he provided a room in the first floor, and since we have four members he told that he is going to provide a larger room but it does not a have balcony and the balcony space is included in the room itself. He said if I need another room he can show that and that will cost more than 2200 per day. Since we all are tired and not in a state to listen all his words we said ok. Actually it was his trick he just provided a room which does not come into the category of rooms I have booked online and the images they put on the website. He can fool everyone since no one will go to other rooms and ask other tourists to show their room and the rent they paid. So my advice is before you book your room double confirm if it has a balcony if not chances are there to get fooled , he will provide you a normal room for the higher price. It’s a total waste of money if there is NO BALCONY.Service---Service staff behavior is fine, all are very loyal and co operating.Food-- Ok and the service staffs are very good at their attitude.
Manager--- Not a friendly person does not know how to behave to tourists pleasantly
Cleanliness- Average.
There were lots of mosquitoes and please be prepared to face them at night, they don’t provide you any mats or liquids till you ask many times.
Extra bed provided with no pillows and bed sheet so no use at all.
Since the room was on top of kitchen smoke was keeps on coming out which made us slightly disturbed.
And on the final day we had to listen for the quarreling between the front office moron manager with someone else during midnight for more than 15 minutes.

Poopada Resort is a stand alone Hotel building with nothing more to offer than spacious rooms with balcony in each room. Hotel is located 200 meters off road up a small Hill and if you reach around evening time, it is more likely that you will miss the place due to insufficient lighting.

We went in Dec-12 around Christmas time - which was peak tourist time & all hotels were booked. Checked many options but all hotels were booked / too expensive. So had to finally settle for this.

** Bad Things **
--------------------
- Small rooms
- Toilet/Bathroom were ok ( at least not dirty )
- Beds condition was really bad. Bedsheet & pillows were ok.
- We were 3 ppl & had paid extra person charges as well. We asked for an extra blanket, but they told that they don't have any. It was really cold & we had to manage things on our own. This was the worst part. That too after paying Rs 2000 for that conjusted room
- Balcony was really dirty & we had to clean it to dry our clothes
- It's located on a hill. However if u get backside rooms, then all u'll see is a closed factory.

** Good Things **
-----------------------
- Best part is their staff. Very honest, helpful & cooperative. Except for not giving us the extra blanket, dont have any complaints against them
- Hot water is available
- Breakfast was fine & reasonably priced
- U can have bonfire outside in the small garden area

Room Tip: It's located on a hill. However if u get backside rooms, then all u'll see is a closed facto...
