“Wonderful retreat from the hustle!”
Reviewed 30 March 2013 via mobile

We stayed for 2 nights in the treehouse and after spending time in Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi it was a delight to be able to completely switch off. We got a pick up from the airport it would have been too much to tackle public transport as the resort is a good 15 minutes drive off the main road, up a hill and well hidden. Perfect to getaway from it all! All the food was freshly cooked and it was some of the best we ate in India. Who knew homemade Puris were so delicious?! There are no creature comforts in the treehouse though hot water was available and my husband and I were able to spend some good quality time together.
One piece of advice if you organise a day trip out and about in munnar (we paid around Rs1600) head to top station first and avoid some of the awful tourist sites like echo point. You MUST visit the Tata DARE project (or Shristi I think its called) it was the best thing we saw in munnar as it was a community based project making natural fabrics and paper products.

If you want to be not too far from the main town of Munnar, but at the same time find yourself lost into the experience of being in a Forest.. than this is the right place for you. A Tree House, A Stone House, A couple Cottage next to the bonfire or a Family room... 4 Opts at one place.. ITs Awesome. Serene View of the waterfall right in front of your house is one of its unique points. Its exotic in its own way cause its very rare to have something so cool n different in the price available. Makes u feel like u r in middle of an adventure in the wild, but at the same time the rooms are fully furnished n comfortable having no problems with basic amenities. One night stay at the Treehouse is a must! A place i would like to go n stay at least for a day every time i visit Munnar.

We a 4 ppl gang went there and stayed in a rock house double bed room cottage and we stayed for a night there and the stay was enjoyable.
The one big problem in this place is the location which is also its advantage. Its almost an hours travel from munnar. If yu want a silent place away from noise yu can prefer this @ anyday. All you hear in the morning is the birds' sound and the cottage was surrounded with bamboo and cardamom forests.
The best part of this cottage is the kallar river's stream going by the side of hotel. If you walk for by the stream near the hotel you find a small falls like thing where you can have a great bath alone with you friends or family. The stream is the best part about the hotel. You will listen to the water flowing noise the whole night and you can see different birds in the morning.
Food though was not so great and not so bad. It is better to have your own vehicle as you can go to visit place and come back in the nights and also have food in munnar which has some descent food place.
This is the best place to hangout with friends for a single night stay as you are the only ones there. Buy whatever stuff you want to buy get it in munnar and go there as the closest shop is very far away and will be closed after evening. Also ask for the directions perfectly if you are planning to reach there by night as this place has no signal other than BSNL and not much of signboards.
Dont expect a luxurious stay but a descent stay with great location at descent budget.

Room Tip: Prefer the rock cottages as the rooms in it are better and has a great balcony.

One of the best place to stay in and around Munnar....or we can say "The Best". The food and services are excellent. The place is so calm and pleasant that it will be hard for us to leave the place. The place is little away from the Munnar town which makes it even better because town means crowd and pollution. The rooms and bathrooms are exceptionally clean. We stayed at the Rock house which is simply outstanding, but the Tree house is equally good. They have very attractive packages to offer with reasonable cost. We had an Elephant ride , Trekking , Jeep ride , sight seeing and Camp fire. We will be going back for sure and next time for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Tree House and Rock House should be a better choice.

Nature is at its best at this property, we had a great holiday for 4 days in ecoland, stayed at the tree house and it was out best experience. We did lot of trekking , adventure safaris around this property. its truly a nature lover's paradise. there is no luxury at this property, but has amenities in place with out spoiling the mother nature. The food was awesome with Rabbit masala, country chicken and some home made veggies. Thanks to team there and guys was very helpful and hospitality was great. We would definitely recommend nature lovers who are looking to blend with nature but no luxury. We will come back in March with friends for a longer holiday, this property is a destination by it self.

Room Tip: Treehouse is the best to experiences.

It was a pleasant stay at Ela Ecoland. We came to spend just one day however, the place made us to stay at the awesome Tree House for one more day!
I would say everything was perfect as what we were expecting. We were not looking for luxury, but for calm and serene and adherence to nature. Ela Ecoland made our two days at Munnar beautiful.

The in-charge Marimuthu and Manikandan provided a great and commedable service. The food was also good except that we were not given a privacy while having food. No issues though when the climate, location and food is top notch! I would recommend this place to anyone who would ask me!

Looking to be back at 'Ela Ecoland' again.

A nice place and the tree house is worth the money, should spend a day on it. for the amount of money one spend , u cant ask for more. if u are looking for a budget stay, dont look anywhere else, and if u planning to visit the places around, ecoland is far away from the munnar tourist spots. so i would say to have a relaxed 2 day stay, this the best place. if you want to go around, its better if you ask them to arrange. the service is very good, the care taker is doing a good job.

Room Tip: the tree house should be your first choice..if you are in a group other rooms can be preffered as th...
