“Amazing !!”

A must visit place. You need to get there really early to get the seat if you are Indian. For foreign visitors there is a separate arrangements.
Visitors needs to wait at a gate near to the parking. It is opened nearly an hour before the beating retreat starts.
Indian men and women get diffrent stands to get seated. For foreign visitors there is VIP entrance (dont miss it).
Beating retreat starts and you hear the patriotic crowd. The Border Security Forces (BSF) will take your heart away.

“Horrible Experience”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

I have seen this parade before and this was my second time. The crowd numbers have swelled multi fold now and it becomes difficult to get a place with people coming in atleast 2-3 hours early. Ladies and gents seating is different and it could become unbearable due to the heat in the region

The ceremony lasts only 30 minutes

Mobiles do not work since jammers are active

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Foreigners are allowed in the "V.I.P." stand on production of your passports. One has to sit on the steps as standing is not permitted. People with problematic hips or backs should take care. You get a good view of the gated border and marching soldiers. One side chants first then the other follows. Interesting ! We saw the bus from India drive through to Pakistan. It would be definitely be a worthwhile experience for Amritsar visitors !

“Surreal and exciting”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

The colors are fascinating on the India side in stark contrast to the black white and grey of the Pakistan side. This daily ritual between India and Pakistan is amazing. So much music, dancing, and drama.

“Surreal experience”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Worth taking the time to arrange a visit. Hard to describe experience as like nothing else I have been to. 2 stands eith side of the gated border packed with people singing and chanting. Not at all threatening but happy and proud of their respective countries. Very staged but good fun even for a visitor and you can't fail to get caught up in the occassion.
