golden temple(harminder sahib) is a heavenly placed in amritsar where one can get real peace of mind and soul despite one belongs to any of religion of the humanity.infact it is the supreme religios centre of the sikhs which is very well governed by the sgpc and all the local devotees.lakhs of peoples from whole of world everydav pay their devotees and get the blessings of that almighty waheguru(god)and here every minute of the wholeday peoples are served by free food which is called guru ka langar and the view of main goldentemple between the large lake which is called sarovar is really a one of the wonder of world.so if anyone visit amritsar and not wathching this beautiful and spirtual place once it will be a biggest mistake of his life.

The Golden Temple in Patan is not only a gem of a temple, but is also in daily use by the local residents. What makes this temple special is that it was founded by the families of traders who traveled between Patan and Lhasa, so that the temple has a Tibetan Shrine upstairs as well as all of the elements of a Newari bahal.

I visited Golden temple complex on very nice day in drizzle . The ambiance of Golden temple in backdrop of grey cloud created a mystic aura.

This place provide instant solace and peace once you enter the Parikarma (outer perimeter) and walk, hard to resist the temptation of Guru Ka langar (Free Kitchen) .The place is very clean and and the Sarovar (water body) has crystal clear water with lot of fresh water fishes.
Usually it takes around 1-2 hours to enter the sanctum (the main temple) , avoid being there in morning and evening as there is a huge rush and the waiting time can be 3-4 hrs.

This place provides inner peace and all the best and feel blessed being there.

Some do and don'ts :
Do- Cover your head ,
Have holy dip in sarovar
follow the rules as mentioned by the temple admin
dress decently as this is one of the most important shrine for sikhs
Don't : take any kind of intoxicant or tobacco product inside the complex
use of mobile and camera inside the main temple
