I had stayed at this hotel a few years back when I was in Amritsar, and found it fairly decent at that point of time. So, when I was making a quick trip on the weekend to Amritsar, I was looking for this hotel, and found it at #10 in the overall list. On Tripadvisor, there are a number of travel services that let you make a booking at the hotel, and I made one successfully and got a confirmation back. However, 3 days later, I got a call from the hotel stating in effect that they were full and my reservation was void. They suggested that they could help me find a location at some other, and suggested a hotel, that was below the Tripadvisor ranking of PR Residency. I asked for some time to think it over. However, there was no further contact from their side, and when I called up a couple of days later, the lady who I spoke to flatly denied that there was any reservation, and that if I had done this from a site, then I should talk to the site rather than the hotel. She said that when her manager came, she would arrange a call-back, but that never happened. This is so messy that I was very frustrated, and the hotel could not care less about this.More
