We paid Rs 450 for a night, for the smallest room with a western toilet in the Natraj. They had cheaper rooms (the one we were shown was not clean or pleasant) with squat toilets. Our room was very over-priced but we couldn’t find an alternative budget hotel in Chittor.
The room was depressingly dingy and was not clean. We found rat droppings (a lot - not just one or two) on the spare bed. Fortunately the main bed was a little cleaner. Not much though - we were glad that we had our own sheets to put on top of theirs.
We only stayed one night and couldn’t wait to get away. We were up and out before 7am the next day!
The hotel is conveniently located if you are travelling by bus - ie it's right next to the bus station. The train station, however, is a long walk away. You'll also need an auto-rickshaw to get to the Fort (don't be fooled into letting them drop you at the first gate at the bottom of the hill - it's a long way up to the main gate!)
If you’re in Chittor it’s worth looking at the Fort. However, I don’t think the Fort is worth a trip to Chittor, and it’s definitely not worth spending a night at the Natraj for!
