The Room provided to us were average but not bad. The worst part was that they did not provide good blankets and the weather was very cold. On asking for replacement or extra blankets they said we dont have any. Luckily one of the staff considered our request and gave one extra which saved us from the cold night.
The food was the biggest letdown. When we inquired that what will not have any chilli in it they said malai kofta (typical sweet dish) but when they brought it even volcano flames would be cooler. On complaining they replied that this is not spicy according to them. Very worst service when it comes to food.
The behavior of staff was overall good

Room Tip: All the food is terrible and costly. Do not hesitate to ask for additional blankets if feeling cold...

We are really impressed with their service and still cherish about this hotel and kodaikanal's trip though we have been to the place 8 months ago.
Good Humanity, tasty food, prompt delivery, hygienic rooms, reasonable prices, safe locality are few important points to mention about the management people and hotel.
For people who wish to enjoy their trip with basic comforts with minimal budget, Hotel Spring Valley would be the best option.
Thanks to the management for the having created positive opinion in all aspects...
P.S. – Since the place is very cold and the hot water facility is not provided in the evening, people who need hot water during evening times, please get in touch with hotel management for alternative option prior hand.

Suggestion for those travelling for first time via train:
Kodai Road is very small station with very less time for halt and no light facility late nights. Request people to book till Dindugal Station or Madhurai station and take the cab instead of talking the cab from kodai station during midnight hours. It’s a matter of few extra rupees but safety should be our primary concern.

Room service was excellent. Restaurant was also superb. Food taste was also very good. Happy with the hotel but don't ask the hotel people for the drivers for the personal cars because they are not providing experienced persons.

The hotel is more or less neat & clean, room service is ok.The Manager Mr Saravanan is a good person.two service boys from Nagaland are good, particularly Pepe, always with smiling face.
Family suite no.302 is big enough with 2 rooms & 2 bathrooms,2 double beds,2 sets cane sofa set,2 wooden almirah. room is airy.Booking through IBIBO was helpful. When off season rate for this suite was Rs.1500/-(season Rs.2500/-) per day.I got it @Rs.1200/- p.d.including tax.
Small dinning space is average with average food available.

Wooden furniture in the suites are of poor quality.Bathroom doors are not closing properly.
There is no generator.UPS is used in restricted manner causing difficulty as load shedding is frequent. There is no open space in the hotel. No shops nearby.
Main drawback is,Hotel's location is odd.It is out of the town,500 mtrs down from the main center,2km from Lake.Unless you have vehicle with you,pay Rs.100/-each time for drop or pick up from the Lake side. From main road to hotel, that private road is not metaled & broken also. There is no chance of immediate repair as some dispute is going on.
The car rental service, attached with this hotel is unreliable.Be careful.

Room Tip: Suite no.2 is good.Better to avoid this Hotel

I don't want to write a story about it. So I'll just summarize the significant.

Pros:

Warm hospitality,
Punctual room-service,
Decent food,
Exquisite rooms (family suite),
Hot water available between 6am and 11am.

Cons:

Not easily accessible by car (dirt road),

Quite a distance from the main attractions,

Free Wi-Fi didn't connect at all,

If you're a pure vegetarian, very few GOOD restaurants around (Hilltop, Astoria).
