An amazing place with rustic touch. One gets an opportunity to stay away from the fast paced city life and with Arjun as a host, everything seems flawless. The hospitality was great and Arjun provided assistance whenever need. His place(Maruti Villa) is at walkable distance from the Kodaikanal lake, so one can easily commute without any means of transportation. One can have food and can enjoy the scenic beauty near the lake.
If it's Kodaikanal then it has to be Maruti villa... serene, accessible and rustic with a view of the town.
Note:Not for people looking for a posh stay.
As the description says, the place has a pleasant view of the lake and greens around. It's a 150 year old bungalow with two spacious rooms with attached bathrooms and kitchen on the ground floor. The rooms can easily accommodate around 10 to 12 people. There is a small sitting area on the first floor which has a good vintage feel. There is a garden and has big lawn in the entrance. Arjun was a very good host and made us feel very comfortable. With an amazing climate and an awesome homestay, it really is a pleasant stay and makes you want to visit the place again.
The place is exactly as the description says it is. Close to the Lake yet quiet and peaceful. Has a good view of one section of the Lake. Good for families and people who would like staying in old English cottage, a non-hotel, homely experience. Has a kitchen for people who prefer self cooking. Space to sit out and enjoy the view. Has a small garden, if u r in the right season you might be able pluck some plums, peaches and butter fruit. The cottage feels cozy and warm when it's cold outside. Worth the money.
Place had quite a vintage feel and it was perfect. Accessible to the city Center, good for family and has a great view of the lake
