“Decent hotel”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 via mobile

Stayed here 1 night. The room was clean and comfortable. It did take about 30 minutes for it to cool down once the AC was enabled by my room key in the box by the door.

The room was very big. A large refrigerator in the sitting area and a small one in the bedroom.

Decent water pressure in the bathroom. Had both a shower and tub.

Good breakfast buffet.

Right in the river with really pretty views.

Room was clean which is almost the only positive thing about it. Walls were cracked, every light was jerry-rigged and looked very sketchy, not to mention a nest of wires "hid" by the night table that did not look safe at all. Bed was horribly uncomfortable, staff barely spoke English but did manage to arrange a taxi for us back to Bangkok so that's a good point for them. Breakfast was not good, although cannot fully comment on it since we didn't go early for when it was hot and do not like a lot of traditional Thai food. Nice and close to the temples, bikedto the floating market, 7-11 right beside the hotel and a nice restaurant named "Seven Seas" just down the street.

Stayed here 2 nights recently. After complaining we were moved to a better room with great view. The hotel is in need of a complete revamp, it's tired and worn, furniture wore and fittings broken. No hot water in our room in the morning time. Whole place needs a good clean. Restaurant for breakfast was very poor, most food clearly reheated. There was numerous staff in the restaurant at breakfast time wandering around aimlessly looking completely bored. ( only saw two other people at breakfast on both days) you really have to question the management and leadership within this hotel particularly as much could be improved without spending any money!

really shocked with the room, old with crank bed. but, for sure my room with river view was awesome. the room is clean but terrible bed, they must renew it. We check in at 10 PM, cos take a train from Bangkok at 9. Just 5 min to walk from railway station, there's 7 eleven and Tasco mart just next the hotels. and so many food stall, cafe and restaurant.

the location was PERFECT. the lobby is beautiful. recommended for only one night stay!!

breakfast is average, but the staff no smile. they have restaurant at the river, nice view.

Room Tip: ask for river view room, or you must upgrade for deluxe river view

This is an awful hotel whose only merit is its location and view from the rooms. It caters for large tour groups who have little or no say as to where they stay and the hotel ignores those not in a group. The reception staff are uninterested and unhelpful, the rooms are tired with many items broken (there were no plugs in my room), and the internet an extra wherever you try to use it.
The attached floating restaurant is poor value for money and service for everyone else stopped when a group of French tourists arrived for their set dinner. Breakfast needs to be taken before the tour group if you want any left. It is 120 Baht if it is not included in your package - it is certainly not worth The next door Seven seas looked much nicer and much better value.

Room Tip: There aren't any that I could see on the 4th floor which is what my agoda voucher got me. Floor...

There is some serious confusion going on here, people. The Ayothaya Riverside HOTEL is a large hotel with several stories, but some of the reviews here are referring to the Ayothaya Riverside HOUSE, a small guest house on the west side of town. In fact, some of the photos shown above are of the Riverside House, instead of the Hotel.

Just to clear up all the confusion, I stayed at the Riverside House and the owners were extremely friendly and treated me like royalty. They even put me up in the backpackers' dorm because I had made my reservation for the wrong night and they were full when I arrived. The next day, the owner drove me to 7-11 for some groceries.

The rooms, including the showers and bathrooms, were all super clean and I felt very comfortable. If you are looking for the Riverside HOUSE instead of the HOTEL in this review, google them on Booking.com.

Cheers!

Room Tip: When you book your room, try to get one of the rooms on the boat, they looked pretty cool.

The only nice thing about this hotel is the lobby, which is their marketing ploy. We paid 1200 Baht for a room and breakfast. The bathroom was grimy and dirty. The breakfast buffet was really bad, and the fruit was crawling with flies.
