I couldn't recommend Miami Lanta more! Stayed here whilst backpacking Asia as a little treat and enjoyed every minute (very very reasonable prices for a non-backpacker). Staff were so nice and friendly, and spoke great English. Some of them felt like friends by the time we left after 5 nights. The beach bar and restaurant were gorgeous at night, great authentic Thai food as well as seafood BBQ at reasonable prices. Lovely eating on the sand then relaxing on the beach with a cocktail afterwards. Fire shows were a great bonus. Loved the banana pancakes and fruit juice cocktails at breakfast. Would love to come back!

Great bungalows, clean and reasonably priced. Terrific bar that serves you while relaxing on the beach in front...fantastic cocktails (especially at happy hour) Restaurant is right on the sand, meals very good and also reasonably priced.
We had a few issues with the hot water ...or lack of it , but with the warm weather it didnt really matter having a cool shower. They also had a nice bath tub.
Breakfast was very basic, but adequate . I hope to return again. Thankyou for a very relaxing stay!

Room Tip: I like a sea view room and they have several available

These bungalows were probably the best appointed ones we have stayed in. Beautiful wood and great bathrooms. The staff however leave a lot to be desired. The breakfast was awful - everything, eggs, sausages were cold every day. Stay here but do not buy the breakfast!. Also there is a very noisy bar next door which plays music well into the night.

Stayed here with three children and had a very good stay. Comfortable accommodation for families situated directly on the beach. Nice pool and beach but very little shade. The food was ok but the breakfast poor and almost uneatable. The staff speak rather bad english and are not so serviceminded. Very cosy beach in the evenings with seafood barbecues and lanterns along all the beach.

Peacefull place at the beach at Koh Lanta. Standard bungalow well priced in high season (1300b/night Jan 2013) Clean but little worn, really ok basic room. Swimming pool on the beach too. Good food, drinks. In the evening can eat and drink on the beach like toes on the sea. Fire shows etc. Free wifi. Breakfast ok, not so many options. Safe parking for motorbike.
Peaceful and not so much tourist hazzle.

Stayed here with a friend in April and absolutely loved it! We each had our own bungalow, which was a bit dated, but what do you expect for the price? Besides, we didn't actually spend much time in them, and they were clean. The owners were really friendly, and very accommodating. The grounds are what make this place. The infinity pool and its surrounding area was gorgeous. The restaurant was really good (I still crave the banana Thai pancakes!), and the beach in front was clean and nice. The little bar was chill and a great place for a cocktail or beer. I can't recommend this place more -- I would love to come back!

Other than the most recent one, there seems to be a lack of newer reviews for Lanta Miami--not sure why. We spent a week there and loved it! It was still early in the season and there were not many people in general, although Lanta Miami was booking up every night. But the beach and restaurants were generally quiet. There were a few families with toddlers at the resort and I can see it being a great place to bring the kids.

Our only real complaint was that we had booked a beach front cabin, after looking at the resort layout. Well, our beachfront was occupied by the massage area, so when we had hoped to be able to sit on our deck watching the sunset, instead we faced right onto the massage deck, watching half-dressed people get oiled and rubbed. Yes we easily could walk a few meters way and sit on the beach, but we felt it was misleading to post a map of the resort on the website for people to choose a cabin and not show that the massage area is directly in front of a beach-front cabin, which of course you pay a lot extra for.

As for the rest of the resort, we really enjoyed the infinity pool and beach. Yes the beach is a bit rocky but it was no problem to swim, especially when the tide was in. The bar and dining area on the beach were fabulous. We ate at the restaurant 4 out of 7 nights, and enjoyed the food for the most part. One can easily walk down the beach and try another resort restaurant but we felt that most of them were very similar in menu and atmosphere (however, we did have a great prime rib and pasta meal at Otto’s Bar & Grill). The service we got at Lanta Miami restaurant and bar wasn’t poor as it was for the previous reviewer. We ordered and got our meals in a timely manner, and the staff was friendly, even remembering our favourite table and what we liked to drink with our meal. The only negative was that they did not ever come by to check on us once our meal was served, so we usually had to flag them down for the bill, and there were separate bills for food and drinks, so getting both bills at the same was always a challenge.

The cabin itself was lovely, with 2 double beds and a large bathroom with separate tub and shower areas. TV reception was poor—but we weren’t there to watch TV. WIFI was a bit sporadic as we were on the edge of the resort—in fact, the WIFI signal from the resort next door was very strong!

On the road next door to the resort entrance is a store selling alcohol, and across the street is a place to rent scooters (a fun thing to do and the roads are great—go to Old Town for lunch and the National Park for swimming and a hike for a great day trip).

All in all, I would recommend Lanta Miami for those looking for middle-of-the-range beach-front accommodation. It was perfect for the 2 of us (older, semi-retired) as all we really wanted to do was lie on the beach, swim and relax. However, I think the resort might have a different atmosphere during holidays and school breaks as it is very attractive to families.
