Lanta Miami bungalow area is green and has good feeling. The rooms are average, in a need of update. We stayed first 3 nights on beachfront bungalow. Our bungalow had the massage point just in front of us. So we didn´t have the beach view from our bungalow. The last 2 nights we stayed at deluxe bungalow and it was very good value for money. That room was on better shape and still had very good access to beach. Good breakfast.

Room Tip: No point to pay extra for the beachfront bungalow.

We stayed at Miami Resort a couple of times and it's always been super nice.

Rooms: They have a few different room types. The newer ones are the beachfront bungalows and the ones around the pool. They are nicely done, and the bathrooms are stylish. The smaller ones are cheaper and older but I can't say anything about them cuz I've never seen them from the inside.
The pricing for the beachfront bungalows is quite high but at least the newer rooms are quite clean. Anyways, don't leave any food in the room, ants are not far.

Service + food: The food is okay. They do a BBQ every night which is great, the western food is a bit pricy but the rice soup and the fried noodles (Thai style) are very good. By the way the fish is soo fresh!!
The staff is lovely. They are all quite young, at least the ones working in the restaurant. But they smile all the time and even if they all don't speak much English they try their best to make everyone happy.

Front/reception: the front office staff is wonderful. Khun Pen and her sister are wonderful women and always soo nice.

Pool/beach: the resort got a pool right on Klong Nin beach from where you can see the sun setting while having a drink in hand. Be careful when going for a swim in the sea. It is very rocky underwater in front of Miami Resort. Klong Nin beach is one of the nicest beaches on the island, cuz it got 4 star hotels, backpacker bungalows, as well es many bars and restaurants for every budget. However, it is a family friendly resort and it can be quite loud in and around the pool because all of the owners children play in the pool during the day.

P'dand bar at Miami: the bar does not belong to the owners of the resort for they are Muslims but P'dang and its team rock! The guys are awesome and they play fantastic music all night long. They do fire shows every night and are always happy to serve you beer or any other alcoholic drink (which you can not order with the restaurant because of their religion. I would like to ask everyone staying there or eating there, to respect their religion and to order alcohol with the bar.)

I can recommend the place, especially when travelling as a family.

We stayed at the Lanta Miami Resort from 6th Dec 13 till 12th Dec 13.
We had a long trip there but it was well worth the 27 hrs from England.
The bungalows are nice and clean as well as is the rest of the property.
We loved the fact that you come out of your door and straight on to the hot sandy beach, or sit by the lovely warm fresh water pool.
No fighting the Germans for sun beds here, it's used by families from the Nordic countries mainly and is more friendly with the mix of Americans and Europeans.
The food was nice in the evenings but the breakfast was very poor.
No choice and run by Muslims.
Food and alcohol is billed via 2 bills and you pay 2 different people for drink and food.
Beware, the change you are owed may be kept as a tip unless you tell them to give it to you.
They kept our change twice and we had to tell them to give it to us. Then tip them.

Room Tip: Choose the Beach bungalows.

We really liked The location and facilities of this place, The pool was directly in front of The Nice Beach. And The bar is super chilled in The night. Personeel could talk à bit more with The guests. Further I would recommend The place and go there again anytime.

- One of the nice places to stay in Koh Lanta
- Hotel has muslim management: Separate bills for alcohol only served on the beach and not in the lobby's restaurant tables.
- We left our brand new camera in a handbag in our room to go swimming 5 minutes. This camera was the only thing we had not put in the room's safe. When we returned to the room (after 5 minutes), the camera had disappeared. How rude! ! ! !
- We were a family of 5. 3 out of 5 got parasitic feet sand worms from walking bare foot on the beach. Wear sandals ! ! !

Room Tip: For a small extra cost, nice bungalows on the sea front.

This is not a place for backpackers. I planned to stay here 2 nights with my girlfriend and we were put in the room right at the back of the resort. The room was ok, it was not the worst place we had stayed in...that was until we heard something on the roof. We thought it must just be a cat, so we tried to ignore it but it went on for about an hour until I got up to turn the light on and to my horror saw a rat running around the wooden area on edge of the ceiling. We immediately left the room and went to reception and were moved into another room, the difference in the state of the room was monumental. There was no apology for what had happened or help to move our stuff. In the morning we went back to reception to ask for our money back for the next night as we did not want to stay in our original room again, and the gentleman again didn't apologise and all he mumbled was along the lines of, 'not the rats again'! Yes there is a nice restaurant, but this is only a good hotel if you stay in one of the deluxe rooms! If you are put right at the back beware of rats!

Room Tip: The rooms surrounding the pool.

We stayed for three days and hired a motorbike out which was a great way to see the island, cheaper to get this from the supermarket across the road. Nice room and pool. The restaurant had good food with reasonable prices and the bar was brilliant with some fab guys running it. We visited a few places around the island including the lighthouse view with a hidden gem of a beach, the national park and night markets. You need a motorbike really as this is isolated and a very quiet island ..... However if your looking for a quiet get away with some hidden beaches for yourself this place is a perfect base.
