Owner description: Kantiang Bay can be found towards the south of the island on Ko Lanta's west coast. The Bay is a little-known, beach-lover's haven where you can truly relax and soak up the sunshine and beach-life of an island paradise. There's plenty of things to do - live a castaway dream, paddle in the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Andaman Sea, learn to scuba dive, or just make Kantiang Bay your sun-kissed home for a while.

We visited this beautiful beach during the low season and there was very few people on it. The sand is very clean allowing the kids to run freely playing.

There is a section of rocks and had little pools with small fish. My 4 year old daughter loved exploring here.

The water is very clean and the waves are fun to play in. We highly recommend this beach for people who have smaller children.

A few restaurants and hotels right on the beach. 7-11 and more restaurants are on the main entrance to the beach. The Southend of the beach is good for swimming and more quieter

You've got to love this little bay beach. It's just a few kilometers long.
Two or three restaurants and hotels that's it.
If you aren't staying on this beech you should definitely take his scooter and visit for a quick swim. P
It's one of those places in the world that won't last long, get there while you can.

So we were staying on Klong Khong beach which I was thoroughly disappointed by as I love swimming in the ocean and we could not do that here due to all of the rocks. Never mind! This prompted us to venture out and after about 3 days we found the south of the island and Kantiang bay. We saw it from a distance whilst driving over the cliffs and pulled up at about 10pm. The fire show was going on at the other end and there were people enjoying their dinner in what looked like a beautiful, atmospheric restaurant joined to the hotel by the beginning of the bay. We quickly ran through all of the alarmed couples to find ourselves running along this incredibly serene and magical beach with dark, threatening waters and a moving, floating jetty. This was the beginning of our fun...We quickly stripped ourselves of flip flops and phones and attempted to run - and fall - along the moving jetty out into the water. I warn you that this is not easy and I would not have liked to have fallen into that black water for my fear of sharks. However, there were clearly night divers out in front of the jetty which reassured me. It seemed to move like a ride, up and down with the waves very abruptly and unexpectedly. We loved it, and mastered it after about half an hour of running up and down. Anyway I don't know if this is allowed during the day or possible because of other people. We didn't go to the bay during the day but I am sure it's lovely. It was very quiet and empty, only a few strolling couples around.

Although we travelled here on an over cast day this didn't cast any shadows over the beauty of this place.
Recommend walking to the end of the beach. We saw a local fishing in the rocks and were the only people around. Pure paradise.
