Stayed here in early July 2012 for a short stay of 3 days in the Yellow villa.
Everything that has been said before is true. Great villas that provide ample amount of outdoor space, combined with indoor space. Great Pool! We really enjoyed our stay. The view from the Yellow villa was special and waking up each morning to the view of the Andaman Sea, the surrounding greens landscape and beach within walking distance, really made the stay memorable.
Yes there is a steep hill from the main street to the villas, that gives your heart and legs a workout, but worth it for the views and villa.
The one downside to the villa location is the food options. If it is raining in the evening/night and you don't have a rental car you can't venture out to get dinner. So if staying in the green (wet) season maybe prepare to bring food to cook or buy food early in the afternoon. As there is no onsite restaurant. There is a service that Baan Kan Tiang See provides to order food, but it closes at 7pm and it takes roughly an hour to get your food.
The high-speed Internet access via the PC or wireless is a great bonus. However, the wireless is not protected, so be cautious using the wireless for personal (Banking) use. It is amazing you can get high-speed broadband access in such a remote area. The PC is connected to a 42" TV, so you can bring your own TV shows or movies on a USB stick or portable hard drive to watch your own programming, as the TV stations provide limited English stations.
Also in the same area (20min walk) is the 5-star Pimalai Resort and Spa. We went there and had lunch on the beach and had the place all to ourselves. We got the luxury of Pimalai without staying there and paying the high prices!
Also close to the villas is The Houben Hotel, which has a restaurant, which we had breakfast twice. Great smoothies - Lychee and Mango.
A lovely stay. Worth another visit.
