The villas are really stunning and great for a family. the pool was wonderful and the terrace enormous with fab views and lots of seating in sun or shade. The outdoor bathrooms were a real treat too. The staff were what really makes this place special, nothing was too much trouble, they went out of their way to help with whatever requests you had and always had time for a chat. Standards of cleanliness were high, lovely bed linen and decent towels etc. As other reviewers have mentioned there is a steep hill leading up to the villas, if you had any mobility issues this would be a problem, and best avoided at hottest part of the day! We hired a car and explored the Island which was great and about £26 a day. We visited some great food markets at Ban Saladan and Klong Nin where we bought fab fruit, veg and fresh fish and chicken which we bbq'd on the terrace at the villa. The only downside was that we stayed in red villa and there was an electricity pole outside that was shorting and crackling in the evening which did shatter the evening peace a bit , the staff were trying to get it fixed and we saw an engineer but no one came back but that was down to local supplier not the villa staff, who were terribly apologetic. food can be ordered and delivered to your villa from Drunken Sailors in the village, Why not Bar was great for evening drinks on the beach and Diamond Cliff was great for sunset views and the beach had the best crystal clear swimming water! Not cheap by Thai standards but we were there 9 days over Christmas and it certainly was a holiday we will never forget.

Room Tip: pink Villa windy at night but great views, white and yellow prob most private. Red nearest pool so g...

Dear HappyEater71,
Thank you for staying with us. We are very happy that you had a great holiday and enjoyed your stay at our resort. We do apologize for the inconvenience with the sounds from the electricity pole. We keep pushing the public electricity company to come fixing it, but it unfortunately takes time.
Great thanks for your nice review and a special thank you for the nice words about our staff. They are indeed very nice and service minded!
We warmly welcoming you back and hope to see you again for another holiday.
Best regards from

I booked this resort as the first stop in a great custom tour of the region put together with our travel agent Andaman Sky. The other destinations we visited were the Centara Anda Devhi hotel in Ao Nang and the Baray Villa hotel on Phuket. Of these places, we liked this resort, the Baan Kantiang, the least, we didn’t like the walk up the hill to get to the resort – our agent had warned us about this but we had had some friends recommend this resort so we didn’t listen.

I liked the beach, it’s called Kantiang, but wish we had stayed down the other end of it at Pimalai (not sure if we could afford that though) or at the Baan Lanta, which is down the same end of the beach as the Baan Kantian See. The rooms are pretty large and well equipped at this resort, the food is good and the service was attentive, it’s just the location that didn’t do it for me.

Dear pottyjohn,
Happy New Year to you and your family.
We are so sorry that your stay at our resort did not meet your expectations and we are truly happy that you felt luckier with your later accommodations.

Agreed, the climb to our resort is rather steep. The benefit - when up, is the amazing view from all parts of our property. Combined with our spacious villas with huge terraces - all facing the view, the very nice pool and the excellent service from our staff, our guests usually appreciate our place a lot.
If walking up the hill is a problem, we agree that a hotel room closer to the beach would be a better choice, but one will definitely miss the spectacular view and our spacious villas!
We hope that you enjoyed your holiday in Thailand after all, and we warmly welcoming you back to our lovely country another time.
Very best wishes from

Hi

It's build on a mountain acces thru a steap climb.

We stayed for 7 days on Koh Lanta at the resort Baan KanTiang See. If you go to Koh Lanta stay at this resort and choose one of the 8 Villa's. The best view has the white Villa (and most private) and then the Yellow. Does it mean the others don't have a great view; The answer is all have a great vie but there can be only one winner. The Villa has two bathrooms and two bedrooms. Both seperated from eachother and 1 can only be entered from the balcony. This is no problem. Everything is big here, Livingroom Balcony (apr.15 x 5 meters) Bathrooms. The Bethrooms are nice but the beds are hard. The Villa's are owned by Norwegian people seperatly. The decorations and interieur are local and very tastfull. Well done.

The Manager of the resort is Kitty. She is an awesome host and does everything for you Trips, booking or whatever she does it. The owners made a great choice of hiring her as a manager.
No restaurant available but food can be ordered from a chart its deliverd by a local restaurant. Good food, good prices.

We had an awesome stay with a great view. If we go back this will be our residence.

Nice restaurants in the area (pick-up service restaurant Noon) Awesome food.

Room Tip: The White or Yellow one. Best vie and most private.

All the services of a hotel combined with all the practical benefits of staying in a house. Baan Kantiang See is a great place to stay in Kantiang Bay. Friendly and efficient service at the reception and good housekeeping.

We highly recommend hiring a chef to prepare your diner in-house. The reception will make arrangements for a very reasonable price (1000 Baht + price of groceries)

Amazing views overlooking the Andaman sea. We liked the villas as they were well designed and worked well with our adult family (parents, 2 adult boys with 1 friend) - There were lots of living space (the terrace is superb!) for the family to "hang out" , plus 2 separate large open showers,2 bathrooms and 2 toilets and a well equipped kitchen . We liked the access to drinking water in a large container where you poured water into a jug rather than individual plastic bottles (so much better environmentally!) and the boys were excited with the internet connected through the TV! The infinity pool with its stunning views was inviting and used by all of the family at various times of the day. The steepness and access of the resort was an initial concern however, we overcame this concern by hiring scooters and buzzing up and out of the villas. It ended up being quite fun! Close by the villas is a small village with some good value eating places. There is an excellent massage place (Mini Mousse) who will come to the villa for the same price as if you visited them at the shop front (!). However the highlight of the visit was the amazing service and attention to detail from Miss Kitty! The hospitality of Miss Kitty and her staff really added to the "Thai" experience. Miss Kitty invited us for a trip up to Saladan when she was going up for a work related trip; she picked us up with a big smile on her face when we had a flat tyre on our scooter, arranged really economical transfer transport etc etc . We have been to Thailand on a number of occasions as a family and as a couple - Baan Kan Tiang See has been one of the best , not just for its amazing views, location, value for money but for the genuine staff hospitality and friendliness. I rarely write a review however on this occasion it was a must do! Thank-you Miss Kitty and staff for such a lovely stay.

Room Tip: We had the opportunity to stay in 2 villas, purple and orange. Both had great amenity and views howe...

We´ve been travelling to Thailand for years, but have never experienced anything like this. A great resort at a much calmer place than the crowded and busy places on the traditional tourist route. Baan KanTiang See is located upon a hill overlooking the Andaman sea (picture). Luxurious houses, friendly staff, easy access to both the small city center and the beach. The more busy (still fascinating) Saladan is just a half an hour drive a way.
There were four generations in our group; this place suits children, teenagers, grown ups and pensioners.

I have now visited this fantastic resort for the 6`th time, and I will continue to spend most of my holidays there (i hope).
My reason is something that you can`t see, only feel.
The place is obviously nice, pretty beaches, fantastic resort etc., but there is something more. Real genuine atmosphere.
I have over the years, been traveling around in the most of the world and I like to think I have seen it all. (missing out China) . I have spent my nights and days in cabins, hotels, tents, boats, etc. in luxury, and I could not decide what who was the ultimate holiday.
Now I have found it! Lovely Baan Kan Tiang See, in Koh-Lanta.
Here you have absolutely everything and you are in the center of the paradise.
When you wake up in the morning and you see the blue ocean from your grand luxury bed, then you know already that this is going to be a absolutely fantastic day. It`s all up to you.
It`s easy to make a nice breakfast in the well equipped kitchen, and then eat it at the big terrace, looking at the ocean in a 120 degree vision.
Then in normally take my scooter and just go! Where does not matter really, it`s always something beautiful, or something different, around the next corner. I can go all day cruising along the nice white beaches and small city centers, the market, looking at the people, the animals, feel the different smells and just suck up the real Thai atmosphere.
I prefer two have my lunch at the local small Phad Thai restaurant, just 100 meters down the hillside, with a nice cold Chang beer or a fresh ecologic tasteful mango chin.
After lunch it`s nice to and back to the quiet resort and have a swim at the beautiful swimming pool, with the most perfect ocean view , and just think about how nice your life is just at this very moment .
After a nice massage at your private terrace it`s time to dress for dinner.
It feels great to stand at the outdoor shower, listening to the crickets playing their songs, while you wondering about witch of the fantastic local restaurant you are going to enjoy your meal this time.
I love Thai Food, so i will always be happy, but for those who prefer more intercontinental food there are a lots of possibility`s, and it`s all at a very nice price.
After 2-3 hours of good food and cold beers, we normally end our evenings at the local- funny -relax wood -beach- bar, WHY NOT BAR, with live music, backpackers, and regular happy people.
From Baan Kan Tiang See you can go many exiting places within short time. Take you scooter to the National park ( 20 min) , Old City ( 30 minutes) , to the main city ( 40 min) , or enjoy your day at a longtail boat visiting some postcard Iceland , or just stay at the resort, and swimming , relaxing and order your food directly to your own house .
The local Thai people are always smiling, so it`s hard to not smile yourselves, and I have never ever seen anybody fighting, or arguing, either local or a tourist, and that is not normal. And why should they? , Warm weather, nice beaches, perfect food, happy people, cheap prices etc. etc.
This is a warm, luxury family resort.
The big houses have a personal touch who will make you feel welcome, and it`s easy to feel HOME, but when you wake up in the morning, you will be happy you are not 
