Our experience with Ananda Lanta was a great. We were three young girls on a budget and this was the luxury of our trip, yet still quite affordable. It's much cheaper than a lot of the accommodation we came across, and it was a very comfortable, clean hotel, with incredibly friendly staff. It's cheaper than Andaman Resort (probably because it is not directly on the beach) but it is only a five minute walk away, where you are entitled to all of their facilities (a restaurant, pool, beach chairs, etc.). It has its own pool as well, an infinity pool, which although lacks the view of the beach, was very quiet and always had a chair available. Breakfast was good: toast, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, meat (ham/bacon/sausage), pancakes, an omelet prepared to your liking, yogurt, fruit, and a few other dishes were provided buffet style each morning. All of the staff we came across were so friendly and helpful, no complaints with service whatsoever.
Overall, we had a lovely stay and I would highly recommend this resort to people of all ages who are looking for great value.

After a bad experience at Ocean View resort in Koh Lanta, the review is on trip advisor, we walked up the road and this hotel had rooms available for us which was very lucky as it was peak season in Thailand and the staff at reception were ever so friendly and even gave us a cheaper price because of all the hassle we went through that day. We were very grateful. :-)

The hotel room was absolutely stunning, and even had a bath with superb views of the large pool and the sea in the distance.

The breakfast was nice, although the staff cooking the omelettes should have been able to speak more english. I asked for the omelette to be well done as sometimes the Thai's do not cook them properly and they are kind of sloppy in the middle and I got scrambled egg??!!

This hotel isn't on the beach but they also have another hotel called the Andaman Lanta Resort which is just across the road, and you can access the nice beach through that resort anyway. It's only a 100 metres away or so.

The pool was so nice, and it was very relaxing just lazing beside it. :-)

This was the only hotel that I stayed in whilst in Thailand that you had to pay to use the wifi - I think that this should be free.

Whilst in Koh Lanta, I would recommend that you hire a motorbike for 200THB per day as the Tuk Tuk people try to rip you off a bit and you will pay the same price just to go 1 way into the town which is only 6 mins away.

Would definately recommend this hotel - it really was one of the best I stayed in! :-)

The Ananda Lanta resort appears to be a relatively new hotel and compared to its slightly shabby sister hotel (Andaman Lanta Resort) is very tidy and well put together. The rooms are large and airy and were clean and tidy, as were the other general hotel areas, including a nice swimming pool which has been made in the infinity pool style.

We stayed just as the season had started and of the 68 rooms only 2 or 3 were occupied. This however did not mean that standards dropped. Every morning when we went down for breakfast (which was a fairly good a la carte) there were 2 waiters and a chef standing by to help us and they had probably been standing there since breakfast began at 7am.
The hotel is located about a 3 min tuk-tuk ride from Saladan town center and this meant that it was quite quiet in the surrounding area, also the hotel was on the opposite side of the road from the beach and about 400m up a slope from the road, this also helped to eliminate traffic noise. It was no more than a 2 minute walk and 200 taxi offers to the beach; however crossing the road at times was fairly hazardous.

We did have a few problems with our rooms; firstly there was so little pressure in the shower that it took some serious dance moves to get wet enough to begin any kind of soaping. Secondly not even Harry Potter could have waved his wand and got hot water, just as it got warm, so back it went to cold. These two issues were mentioned at once to reception and to be fair they did get on the case, but alas neither were fixed before our 4 night stay was over. This might be down to pre-season teething problems or a general problem, either way it must be fixed.
Two other small criticisms were very hard beds(this can of course be a matter of taste) and an air-con system that sounded like a helicopter was landing on the roof. Also the rooms were not so well sound insulated so sounds from rooms above, below and next door were heard but not enough to cause any serious discomfort.

On a positive note, the staff in the entire hotel - from bellboy to manager - were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. When one of our party fell ill they drove her first to the clinic one evening and when this was closed they drove her to the hospital the next morning and waited and helped with translation issues when they arose. Also during a heavy rain induced, island-wide power cut – we found out the hotel had its own backup generator which was a nice touch.

All in all if you can overlook the small problems that we had then this hotel is good value for money and quite well located away from the hustle and bustle. I would return here but not for more than 1 or 2 nights.

we were more than surprised when we entered in the room. it was absolutely over expectations comparing with information and pictures in broshure.
+ a lot of space in the room
+ shover and bath
+ ability to use andaman resort (the same hotel group) hotel's service: just 2 minutes walk from ananda and you are already at here. it is in the beach, breakfast were here also, ability to use swiming pool.
+ friedly staff
+ convenient service: motorbike rent, hotel transfering for free (pier - hotel -pier)
+ ability to negotiate :) (as we were on low season)

unfortunately:
- the hotel is not on the beach;
- we got lizard in the room which made strange sounds and small ants- so please do not eat in a room ;)
- swiming pool was with chemicals (they were not melted)
- not much hot water in bath

Modern apartments in an ideal location. Spacious contemporary accommodation, fantastic tiled bathroom with wetroom shower, separate bath and large sink area. Living area also has modern decor, king size bed, massive walk in wardrobe, huge flat screen TV, air conditioning, wall to wall patio doors leading to the biggest balcony we have ever had in any holiday accommodation, mini-bar + more!
We were top floor, sea & pool view. The sun sets directly in front of appartments, right behind Kho PhiPhi.
Infinity swimming pool was real plus. Was never too busy, a lot of the time we had it to ourselves.
Maid service is provided daily and the staff make an excellent job, they are also very friendly.
Location was perfect, 2 minutes to the beach, bars and shops. Located at the north end of Kho Lanta which is more developed, the further south you go the more bungalow type accommodation there is.
There was not a resturant as such on site at Ananda Lanta, however there is buffet breakfast provided in the downstairs dinning area. It was good but nothing to get excited about. Ananda's sister hotel is just 2 minutes away at the beach and you are allowed to use them for breakfast instead if you wish, as well as for evening meals, drinks etc.
All in all we were more then happy with our stay at Ananda Lanta and would highly recommend it to those looking for modern accommodation with a touch of luxury at a very reasonable price. If you too are looking to explore the wonders of Kho Lanta, I highly recommend Ananda Lanta as your retreat.
