“Dont be fooled by the crowds”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

My wife and I were staying nearby and this place was busy most nights. We popped in and decided to order starters only. The batter covering the tempura was so thick it was like eating vegetables covered in doughnut. I can’t recall what other started we had but most of it was given to the local cat under the table. The food was so poor, we paid up and went to a nearby alternative.

The only reason we could think why this eatery was so busy was for the same reason we were attracted there, it was busy. Our advice is don’t fall foul of this. Nearby Oasis Sunset is the best Thai food we tasted on Lanta and nearby Yang Garden was some of the best western food I had ever tasted.

“Really Enjoyed”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

We tried the fruit shakes, which to an Aussie is a slushie, these were the best ever we tried. Went back many a time just to get the refreshing drink.

“A Thai highlight.”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We came here three times during our 2 week stay in Ko Lanta.
You have the option of beach or restaurant dining. We were caught in heavy rain while dining outside and you have the option of moving inside or eating under an Umbrella.
Our food was delicious. The staff were friendly, smiling and joking with us. There was a large selection of choices and we ordered differently every time. The meals were full of flavour.
We also did the cooking class here and I can not speak highly enough of it. If you are looking for a fun activity to do solo, with friends or as a family then I highly recommend this class. Our teacher was lovely and I will be back again for sure.

“Nice atmosphere but..”
Reviewed 20 February 2014 via mobile

I had a pepper garlic (beef), and had a tourist flavor about it, nothing special.
(I had the same at Jai-Dee and that one was really spicy with good flavor.)

The place is nice with chairs and tables at the beach for the sunset.
Oh yea almost forgot, (really big rats outside of the restaurant) they need a cat :-).

“Excellent Thai food on the beach”
Reviewed 9 February 2014 via mobile

We stayed in Khlong Nin for 3 nights and visited Roi Thai 2 out of 3 of these nights.

Firstly the service was excellent. On the first night it was extremely busy and the tables on the beach were full. We asked if we could wait for a table with a few other people as inside was boiling and they moved us all tables to the beach which was fantastic.

The food was really yummy and great value for money. We had mains the first night - Penang curry and a stir fry dish and on the 2night added soup and chicken satay for starters which were the nicest we'd had!

I'd thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a lovely meal, I was sad to leave Khlong Nin and a great find behind.

Thanks Roi Thai!
