We rented two villas for a week and don't regret it at all. The manager Aor was very prompt in taking care of our constant requests and modifications by email. She arranged our transfer from Krabi airport (2500 thb, 2h30), arranged for 3 scooters to be delivered at the villa (!) upon our arrival and ordered our food throughout the week.

The two villas themselves were absolutely gorgeous and every little detail was taking care of. We spent a few nights in one of the nicest rooms at the Sofitel So in Bangkok just before but preferred the beds and night lightning at the villas. The swimming pools were quite small but enough to refresh ourselves. Each villa was cleaned daily and water/towels/coffee/etc refilled upon request. The 2 boilers in one of the villas broke down but were fixed quickly.

The only low point was that neither villa had any view (they are confined within 4 walls) and that they were not located near a beautiful beach. I would definitely recommend renting scooters.

Room Tip: We stayed in villa "Male" and villa "Shabaa". Shabaa is L=shaped with two great...

We spent a week in Ao Nang prior to coming to Koh Lanta and we were craving some privacy. We had researched Alanta Villa and were confident we had made the right choice. But even our high expectations didn't prepare us for the beauty of the villa. The pictures online do not do it justice.

Aor, the property manager, is so welcoming. We emailed her before and organised to be picked up from Saladan pier. We also wanted to attend Time for Lime cooking school, so she organised this for us in advance, including the transport. She also arranged for us to have a motorbike delivered to us the next morning.

We were really hungry when we arrived and asked for a recommendation of a local restaurant. Aor recommended Kwan's which was a short walk. It was easily the best food we had in Thailand.

The entire experience (so far, we are still here) has been amazing. It is the perfect way to end our holiday in Thailand.

We spent 5 days here and had an absolutely beauitful time at the villa. It's within a very short walking distance to the beach and some incredible food. Worth every penny. The service was excellent and at night the beach nearby really comes alive.

We staid here a week with our family of 4. It is paradise. There are 4 villas, each with a wall and private pool.Only the bedrooms have walls; kitchen and showers are open. There are animals everywhere: we had a frog on the door, birds in the kitchen and a gekkho behind the toilet. everything is high quality: we had a nespresso machine, satelite tv, wifi, beer in the fridge etc. It is self-catering, but you can order food at the reception. They have also a DVD library, so everything for children. The pool is not a young children pool. My son of 11 could stand on his toes. Beach is at 200 meters, with lights everywhere. You have to cross a road with restaurants, a hair dresser, several shops and ATM machines. Plenty of tuk-tuks waiting to bring you everywhere (but we never left - why should we?). On the beach there are many bar and restaurants. Left side is better. We tried a few, but ended up eating every evening at lantas lodge BBQ; a fish and a beer for 350 baht (9 dollar). The beach itself is much better than described. Swimming is possible everywhere, even with low-tide.
Alanta villa organised pick-up at the airport (2500 baht one way); it is about three hours from the airport, including the waiting time for the two ferries. Dahla villa is closest to the beach, but the diference is 80 meters max. The villa sleeps up to 5, in 2 bedrooms. AC, safe, DVD, anti moustique is all there. Swimming pool and villa is cleaned every day. Bottles of drinking water are provided for free. And yes, you do not need cloth in the villa and pool. Paradise.

Room Tip: Dahlaa villa is closest to the beach

This is only the second review I have ever been inclined to write, and I have been fortunate to stay in many stunning hotels/ villas across the world.

It took me months of research and internet stalking to put together our Thailand itinerary, my fiance and I like high-end luxury, but with a human touch....we are both young, active professional people.

We started in Bangkok (at the Hansar Hotel which I will review also, as it was exceptional) then travelled to Krabi to stay in 3 hotels in the province.

Atlanta Villa was by far the best, I don't actually know where to start! First of all the management -

Aor and Ben who manage the villas are un-real, I emailed a steady stream prior to leaving the UK and the comms was excellent. On arrival we were greeted with the warmest welcome imaginable! More about that later.

The Villa, we stayed in Maui, it was just stunning, every detail thought of, two bedrooms, both with outdoor showers, and toilets, with such beautiful comfy beds and bedding.... a private pool with water feature and another open shower next to it, and outside kitchen/ lounge area that had every, last, single, thing you could need!!! a fully stocked fridge/mini bar, with beers at 50baht a pop so worth drinking!! A fab nespresso maker, all cooking stuff, wine glasses plates etc etc etc....

This villa was massive, could easily fit a family of four with room for more....the seating area had a huge flat screen, and enormous ceiling fans so in the evening and in the day it was perfectly cool.

In the evening the Villa came to life, they provide candles and beautiful lighting etc, just lovely.....if you like wine, go down the road and hunt out a local shop and buy bottles, we found some half decent for 660Baht a bottle (that's very cheap for Thailand) The villa was safe, and you felt safe due to the onsite security.....as mentioned before the path to the actual complex is not inspiring, but do not let that put you off at all.

The location - you can walk to the beach in under 10minutes, just literally down the entrance path and across the road....on that beach you can find tons of very chilled beach bars, utterly stunning at night, with fireshows and cheap drinks, etc etc....

We booked a day tour of the island with the Villa, it was £25 for the day, and our lovely driver took us to see everything, it was a great day, and we got a feel for the island....

We went on the jungle trek, to the waterfall, wasnt impressed with the actual waterfall, but the trek was really fun, if not a little scary, dont wear flipflops!!!!!! its a real trek into the dense jungle, steep inclines etc....we didnt go with the elephant riding, I read so many terrible things....so stuck to the jungle trek, which the driver from the villa dropped us at and waited for us.

My fiances fave thing was the in room catering, it was EXCELLENT, so cheap, and the best after a day out.....literally delivered to your front door....

We also had the villa do all our washing and ironing before we left, again collected and dropped at the front door for £4.50 for an entire suitcase.

We stayed 3 nights at the end of our trip and it MADE the holiday, book the transfers to and from the airport with the villa, be prepared its a little bit of a mission (two car ferries) 2hours....BUT its worth it, and they send a great air con car.

Its worth the money, every penny. I also looked at Pimlai as a close second, and I am SO happy with my choice, after going past the hotel it was just another hotel you can get anywhere in the world, these Villa's are outstanding.....

I'm rating this 5 stars because it is perfect on many levels, but I want to ensure I paint a clear picture so others aren't surprised!

First off, this is a villa, not a hotel or inn. You are on your own. But this can be a good thing! You are 'walled in' so if you want to prance naked through your kitchen, go for it! I recommend naked swimming too :). If you do need help, you need only pop over to the office and Ben or one of the other lovely ladies will assist.

You will need to buy all your own supplies if you don't want to eat out all the time. (Side note, if you want ground coffee, you will need to go to salad an village!). Rent a scooter. This will give you more freedom. Drive to Kantiang Bay...have lunch and a swim at the great restaurant 'same same but different'. Drive a bit further south, pass by a sign for 'noon' and look for scooters parked on your right. Walk down a big hill to a beautiful beach. Enjoy a beer and say hello to the sweet girl who will give it to you.

Important - the beach closest to villa is down the hill and across the street. It's maybe a 8 minute walk. It's not a good swimming beach but it's great for sunsets, walking and eating! Fisherman s Cottage, green chili, green gardens are all good. Also important, the outdoor washrooms in the villa seem like a quaint idea, but, if you wake up in the middle of the night and feel a bit unwell, you may not enjoy the atmosphere (hot, humid, buggy at times). If you get freaked out by geckos, spiders and wormy things, you might not like it. Not that you are overrun with creepies, but you may see a couple!

I wish the villa was a touch further south, but overall, it. Was a great stay with excellent help when required.

This place is wonderful. From the more than helpful staff, to the beautiful villas and private pools, I would definitely recommend this place to stay.
Each private villa has 2 bedrooms, outdoor Kitchen living area and a private pool. You are walled in and noise from other villas does not make a dent in the tranquility. There are outdoor ensuites, which when it's raining you can get splashed but for the majority of the time are private and peaceful. (There is a roof over your head, but no walls.)
The finish on the building workmanship is excellent and the beds are comfortable.
It's only a quick 15min taxi ride to Saladan for the markets and some shopping. There are some wonderful restaurants nearby and the beach is a short 200mt stroll away.
Thanks!
