myself and partner stayed here in jan 2011 and will definitely be heading back next year...Its a family run business and you are made to feel really welcome, nothing is too much trouble and the owers and staff are so friendly, it definitely felt like home from home for us.The rooms are fantastic and spotless clean, modern yet still have that traditional thai feel to them and they are set on stilts with a chill out area underneath with a seating area and hammock too!!!!!! I think every detail of this restort has been finely tuned and they have got it spot on. friendly people, great service, fantastic value for money, close to the beach, beautiful rooms, what moer could you ask for? A swimming pool maybe?.......I hear there is one in progress....one hundred and one per cent we will be back to this wonderful jem.

My boyfriend and me spent 4 days there. The place is just perfect. There are around 5 or 6 six chalets runned by a Thai family. The Chalet was very cozy, clean and it has not only your private toilet but also an hammock and a place outside to rest. Very clean and the staff was very friendly. They also provide restaurant service and are very friendly. The place is also very well located, just 10 minutes from the center and 5 minutes walking to an amazing beach, where there is an eco bar, where u can also get some food and drinks at affordable prices.

We were very happy to have found this place and I strongly recommend you to stay there if you are a couple and want to relax there for a couple of days. It's just perfect :-) !

These are run by an extreamely friendly family, the son who runs it speaks amazing english and is super helpful. His mother cooks amazing food there as well and breakfast comes with the room. The rooms are on stilted bungalows close to the beach, but not on the beach (1 min walk) and have free wifi and good AC. It was near the end of the main town near the harbor. We stayed 2 nights and wanted to stay more but no rooms were available so we moved half way down the island where there was a younger vibe to the lantah nature beach resort which although was on the beach was no comparison to the long beach chalet. Also right on the beach from the long beach chalet was this amazing little backpackers bar/restaurant with amazing food and vibes which we ate at a ton. Deff check it out even if your not staying there. We were also able to rent mopeds from the chalets (which is a must when staying on koh lanta) and explore the island which was amazing. The only complaints I have is that the bugalows seem to move a bit when you walk around and the last bungalow (closest to the ocean) is below a cashew tree so the fruit falls on the roof and was loud. Also the bathroom is in a seperate section which is not air conditioned and you can also run the risk of people passing by seeing you make the two step dash to the room, although there are really no people who walk by. Otherwise one of the best places we found to stay on the island as far as comfort and privacy goes.

We truly enjoy our stay in Long Beach Chalet - Kho Land. It was amazing!!!

Tan is a true legend when it come to service & hospitality, the morning breakfasts was delicious, the rooms are nicely decorated and the hotel over all is delightful - small cozy spot plus the long beach is a 200 metes, close to the chalet is to line-down and start "Living the Dream." If you are looking for a fun adventure try "Paddling - it's awesome... Tan can direct you were to hire the boards.

I highly recommend to any person who is looking for a nice spot to spent with his girlfriend, friends or family.

What a great time we had in "Long Beach Chalet!"

Thank you!

we really enjoyed our stay at Long Beach Chalet Ko Lanta, the rooms and service were excellent. We were picked up at the port by the hotel and taken to the resort about 10 mins away. It is a few hundred yards from the beach. Many bars and restaurents along the beach and surrounding area. We ate at the hotel 3 nights and had a lovely home cook set thau meal each night. Er hired Bikes to explore the island and also went on a Thai cookery course. We also stayed at a 5* resort on the island and enjoyed this one just as much.

This is the most wonderful place. Tam and his family do the most wonderful job in helping and making you feel like a long lost family member - truly an experience to enjoy!

We stayed here for 4 nights (extended from 3) and could we have changed our flights (trust me we tried!) we would have stayed another month!

Right so what can I say - this is NOT a room - it is so MUCH more. It is a detached chalet/ jungle house retreat. You have an open living room area downstairs with seating and a table and then you have a hammock area. Upstairs you have your bedroom and a bathroom (this is in a separate room). Wifi is everywhere and a good strength.

Things you have got to appreciate and will learn to love - the bathroom is more open than what you will be used to. That means you have got to get used to seeing a few bugs - we had a pet frog on our shower and we were most disappointed when he left us! There is a short walk to the beach (3-4 mins) through a bit that looks like a building site. This sounds terrible - but it's not. I just want to manage your expectations. The path which leads to the beach (and a great beach bar called Kumaplumpar - or something like that!) is well lit at night and it's well worth it as the bar is super. Drinks are reasonable, food is delicious and food is yummy and cheap. This is also a great place to spend your days as we did from morning till night. The beach is fabulous, the sea is clear and you will feel that you are on a deserted island.

Let's talk about Ko Lanta - if you're coming here for non stop parties and lavish restaurants go to another island. Koh Lanta is amazing. It's the best de-stressed, chilled most lovely place ever. I don't really want to share the secret with you as I would hate it to become overly commercial, but I feel I have to do my bit as it was because of Tripadvisor that we stayed here. We had lovely food at Long Beach Chalet courtesy of Tam's mum and we also ventured out and ate at local street bars, a cook your own place in Klong Dao beach area and other such ramshackle huts. Most meals cost us about £3-5 for two people including drinks. All of our meals were delicious and I cannot find fault.

Ko Lanta is a wonderfully special island, and Long Beach Chalet is the most wonderfully special place you could choose to spend your time here.

Tam told us about a Swedish couple who had stayed for a month there - believe me I can understand it. I'm a stressed, busy company director and I am now planning how I will get my one month in jungle heaven at Long Beach Chalet.

We found Long Beach on Trip Advisor and booked, and we weren't disappointed. We have been travelling for three months and this is one of the best places we have stayed in any country so far - so much so, we stayed four times during our time in Ko Lanta.

The rooms are cosy, spotlessly clean and airy, with a very comfortable bed, mossie net, tv and fridge. There is an area under each of the bungalows where you can lay and relax out of the sun but you are still outside, which is great. The gardens are beautiful, and it is just a short walk to a lovely beach.

But the best thing about Long Beach is the family who run it. Nothing is too much trouble and we were helped each time we asked for anything. The food is fantastic - you can order evening meals if you want to - and one of the Mums even let me do some cooking with her. One night we were invited to dinner with all the guests who were staying, and it was a great way to get to meet other people. Tam and his family have a great knack of making you feel at ease, and within no time we were all chatting like we'd known each other for years.

We stayed in other places on Ko Lanta, but each time we went back to Long Beach after staying somewhere else on the island for a few days - we felt part of the family very quickly, and it such a peaceful, relaxing place to stay. A fantastic place and an incredible family.

Room Tip: there are no best rooms, they are all the same
