We "poshed" it up and went for a seaview villa and I am so glad we did as we were unfortunately there for the unexpected monsoon rains so we spent a lot of time in our room and in our spa bath on the veranda! The view was amazing, the spa bath fantastic and the shower room was gorgeous. So all in all I would recommend here but don't book through Booking.com as we ended up paying 10,000thb per night which seems to be a lot more than we should have. I did try to book direct but never heard back from the Chalet and I didn't want to lose the room so we paid over the odds. Plus you're charged an extra 3% if you pay by credit card.

Other lovely touches were the great bath and beach towels and the lovely way they are decorated each day.

The freebies of soft drinks, fruit and crisps each day was a really nice touch.

What let's the place down is the really poor breakfast and the basic reception area and facilities (toilets). It's like they forgot to update them in the build.

If you can go room only I would recommend it.

Other than that enjoy your stay and if you can do the seaview with the spa bath do it! Chilling in it looking and listening to the thunder, lightening and crazy rain was one of the highlights of the trip. Nature at its best.

We stayed in the beach front chalets which are more pricey but worth every penny! Perfect chalet, perfect view, perfect pool, amazing and super, super helpful staff. Thai massage steps away, plus lovely restaurant on the beach (and near to other places to eat if you fancy a change but not so near you feel crowded). Loved it- as did the kids!

Great hotel. The location can't be beat. We stayed in the Sea view villas right off the beach and couldn't have asked for more. The rooms are clean and tastefully done. The pool was great, overlooking the ocean. The restaurant/bar is also conveniently located right on the beach.

Only reason for four and not five stars was the last day. They knowingly booked us a taxi too late to the airport! It was very rainy and there were delays getting on the ferry to the mainland. They knew this but still booked us a later cab!

At any rate, the overall stay was great. Would stay at LBC again.

Pros
Really lovely resort, right on the beach. We stayed in the Beachfront Villa and also the Duluxe Villa with spa bath. Both were absolutely lovely, big, clean and bright. The spa bath was awesome, lying there on your deck and watching the world go by. The breakfast was delicious too, and the staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed over New Years and received a beautiful little magnet and HNY card with invite to the Gala Dinner that night which unfortunately didn't go too as we had already made plans.

Cons
The staff during the day in the bar were a bit slow and friendliness was hit and miss. I wasn't uber happy that the floor to ceiling windows could open when staying in the second row villas as there is a 10 foot drop down below. We also had quiet a bit of trouble paying at the end as the card machine wouldn't take Visa - though we managed to solve with cash. Even though it was lovely, I don't think it was totally worth the money.

Room tip: There are 2 parts of the resort, the Garden Villas are not on the beach, but only a 3 minute walk down the driveway

Comfortable bungalows with a choice of standards. 2 nice pool areas. Modern ones are right on the beach, older ones a 200 metre walk behind. Ours was at the back and was fine. Enjoyed the easy walk down to the beach/restaurant. Needed it after eating all that good food. Staff were excellent, all supervised by Mama Lym, a great chef, and her attentive family.

Room tip: If you want all modern amenities, go for the front area. Bungalows behind are comfy.
