Swedish people, swedish kids, swedish time on watches at the wall, and even books are on swedish language).
Staff is really friendly and helpfull. Great english. Good breakfast. You can find eggs, becon, vegetables, cereal and much more.
Staff can book any trip for you. Room was really big and light. There were microwave, kettle and fridge.

Room Tip: We were living at 4th floor, so waterpool just next to our room. It's great.

Location was good and bad. Close to Saladin, near eating and shopping but noisy at night and early morning with the school. Also, the best beaches in our opinion (more quiet, scenic and not as crowded) were in the South of the island (Bamboo bay, Nui beach and the one near Diamond cliff) so it took us about an hour scooter ride each day.

Room was large, had A/C but cleaning was spotty during our 5 nights stay. Bathroom and shower were outside on the terrace which was a bit odd. The cleaning staff also did not lock the sliding door (which we had locked) when they did come clean the room. We complained to management but the same thing happened again the next day.
Breakfast was good and the swimming pool very nice and clean. Internet worked well overall.
Management and staff was helpful and they had the cutest and most playful kitty on the grounds.

Overall Koh Lanta was OK and laid back, but not that picturesque nor clean. There was trash everywhere near the beaches and side roads, it makes you wonder where the 10 baht cleaning fee charged at the pier goes? Also, every beach we went to had a sea lice problem and we could not stay in the water very long or we would get stung.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are better.

This place is not far from ferry or town, is clean an breakfast is what you would expect but service it not that good.

When we checked in we booked 2 non-smokers rooms, 1 for us an 1 for our friends.
They toke us to our room which was nice but the smell of smoke was so strong I couldn't stay in the room. Staff moved us to a better room that was smoke free.
When our friends turned up (same staff whom helped us) toke our friends to the same room, again our friends were not impressed with the smell an I explained it wasn't what we had booked, friends got put in a family non smoke room after that.

Please note other staffs English isn't that good asked to book a taxi an young man wrote it all down but didn't do anything with that, this was frustrating as it made us late to ferry with all our bags.

Over all rooms were tidy an clean an breakfast was nice.

The family room we got was quite big, one bed separated by wardrobe, which had some smell of moist. When booking I asked for higher floor, but got 1st. Should have asked in the hotel again, my fault. The view from balcony was on the huge towers of telecompany transmitters. And this is where semi negative part stops.
The beds were comfortable, room clean, service fast and great. Whatever we asked we got within 3 minutes (hair drier, electric mosquito repellent, dinner in the room for incredibly low price), very cheap drinks in lobby fridge, free beach transfer, tuk tuk rental (excellent but pretty scary experience -beware, in a restaurant after whole day driving tuk tuk, we were told that it was forbiden to rent tuk tuks to foreigners).
Rooftop pool was also very nice.
We trully felt like at home in this hotel.

My wife and I have visited Lanta three times over the past five years. On this trip, our favorite hotel (the Lanta Mermaid) was fully booked, so we spent 10 days at the Lanta Residence 'Boutique.' First, the good news: 1) The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from 'downtown' Saladan, and not far from the beach. 2) The family who runs the hotel is wonderfully warm, hospitable, and helpful; I think they work 24 hours a day, but are always smiling. We even had a moped accident with one of their mopeds, and they were very courteous about it. 3) The breakfast buffet was quite nicely done. And 4) The rooftop pool looked quite nice.

However, while our 'Grand Deluxe Family Room' was always clean, it had one very, very odd feature: It was divided from the adjoining room not by a wall or a solid door, but by a glass door! Imagine my surprise when I pulled open the curtain covering the door...to see another couple in the adjoining room. Sound insulation between our rooms was poor, and whenever they had their light on, we could see inside their room (and vice versa.) I'm not sure if other rooms are like this, but we found it very odd. Happily, the owner was kind enough to allow us to change to a different room that didn't have this problem.

Also, we paid a fairly high amount (US $87/night) for our stay. There are plenty of hotels on Lanta (the Mermaid is one) that offer better rooms for the same price. When we return to Lanta, we will probably stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Whatever you do, don't get the room(s) with the glass doors connecting you to the next room. Unl...

Really nice hotel with a great breakfast, amazing rooftop poo, lightning fast WiFi and friendly/helpful staff.

The hotel was located really close to the pier and had great shopping and evening street food.

The beach isn't the best one so definitely worth renting bikes and exploring the island (or if there's a group of you hop in a tuk-tuk).
