This is in old town lanta which is a little off the beaten track. They didn't have a menu on so just told us some options and the food that came out was so good we went back the next day. The decor is really well done and unique. There's a really nice little cat that will come and sit with you!!!

We have been traveling in Thailand for a month and went by this little place yesterday, and was not dissapointed. They dont have a menu, you can choose from 3 dishes of the day and it was really the best thaifood I ever had! I think that says it all :)

although i have known Patou for several years, it was not until about 6 months ago that i finally got around to visiting his very out of the way restaurant- and boy, was it ever worth the effort it took to get there! very fresh and innovative Thai food, sometimes with a subtle indigenous sea-gypsy twist to it- although it is not cheap by any means, it is relatively good value for money-
everything is prepared to order- so be prepared to wait awhile for your food- but if you're in a hurry, then Lanta is not the place for you anyways!!!
features a wonderful view and incredible relaxation on the long back patio that stretches all around the building
i see where somebody complained that this place was not child-friendly; both times that i visited, there was at least one family eating there- but their children seemed basically well-behaved and knew how to comport themselves in a nice dining establishment...
frankly, i am glad the place was NOT overrun by loud, loutish ill-mannered brats...
if you appreciate very nice food in a stunning, off the beaten path setting- THIS is the place for you...

Stumbled upon this place when we ran out of road on our bikes and were greeted with a beautiful beach and this lovely respite from the heat.

It was quite as it was low season but the staff were really welcoming. Sat out on the deck at the back and supped a refreshing fruit juice. Stunning views and a the menu looked lovely but we were just stopping for a drink.

Lovely decor and setting.

We stayed in Lanta Old Town for a week and found ourselves here almost every day for lunch. Head south out of the town and walk for 10 mins until the road ends, that's Caoutchouc. Colourful hammocks hang from the roof, brightly painted furniture and cushions decorate the deck area and the food is amazing. Patou does salads if his partner Zac is on lunch break, but when Zac is there, he does a pretty god bbq. Relax with a fruit smoothie and play gammon for the afternoon, you'll be well looked after.
