“Lovely family beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2014

Perfect beach for kids with shallow waters and soft sandy bottom. My preference would be to stay in the middle of Klong Dao beach, away from the rocks and where the tides washes up rubbish.

“Great location, near to town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2014

This beach sits on a beautiful bay and is close to town and great restaurants. My only complaint, and this goes for ALL of Lanta, is that hotels restrict access to the beach by not allowing "others" to access the road/beach via their hotel unless you are a guest. As far as quality of sand, rocks, etc, I would pick Khlong Dao over Long Beach as it has contour. Long Beach is just, well, a long straight beach.

“The best beach at Koh Lanta”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2014

We have been to Klong Dao beach many times and I just must say that the beach is just wondeful. It's perfect for our kids with it's shallow water.
A tip is Bambies restaurant just beside D.R Lanta bay resort. They have delicious food and they allways serve you with a big smile on their faces. An other good restaurant is Krua Nidnoy, just beside Ocean View resort. Try their Choco shake !!

“Best Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2014

The beach was never overcrowded, No motor sports etc. so great for swimming. Great eating places along the beach. We ate mostly at the Bamboo, great food. Strolling along the beach was like being in paradise.

“Perfect, peaceful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2014 via mobile

Great quiet place with almost no people, if there are any, they are kind and with the smile on their faces, almost no Russians, mostly Aussies. We stayed there on the beginning of March, a little angry for wasting time on Phuket.. Beach has a lot of dead coral reefs which is good for snorkeling but there is no problem with swimming also. Water has great turquoise color but it's not so clear close to the bay. I recommend taking kayak (double for 400/hour) and go to the nearest coral reef for snorkel.
Almost all hotels have ocean view and free sun beds on the beach. Great restaurants just facing the sea with delicious Thai food. Cocktails are a little expensive though, around 180-200 a drink it's a little too much for me. But for 80 you can get a smoothie which I strongly recommend! If u are thinking where to escape from busy Phuket this is perfect place!
