“A very special place”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We stayed here for two nights in May and really loved it. The owners were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Its location is away from everywhere else so you will need your own transport. However this is easily sorted and no matter where you are on the island, you'd want a scooter/car. Rooms are basic but have everything you can need. The sea view was so beautiful, being awoken by an incredible sunrise was magical. It was one of those 'I bloody love Thailand' moments. The rooms are open style, so at night if you leave lights on bugs will come around. But they are only usually active at dusk. There is a mosquito net around the bed to keep the blood suckers out! As its a little open the air circulates and the fan is enough to keep you cool in the night - I slept so well here. The gates lock at 10pm but as Ko Lanta isn't really a night time spot, this didn't matter.
The restaurant upstairs shares the same views as the rooms and had the best pineapple juice in Thailand.

If you're looking at getting away from it all for a few days then this is the place. The next time I come to Ko lanta, I would love to stay here again.

We stayed here for 8 wonderful days in March. It is remote but that's the beauty of it.

Location

We arrived at dusk to see a monitor lizard swimming in the sea below. We were treated with a drink and a huge welcome,.

The rooms all face the sea, it's mesmerising: we woke to the sunrise over the island and it was so relaxing, picturesque and peaceful. The room was as we expected basic but very clean with brilliant white sheets and towels, soap and shampoo were provided and there was a safety deposit box if needed.

Jack helped us hire a car from a neighbour so the remoteness wasn't a problem. We had an amazing variety of lizards, birds and wild monkeys - what's not to like.

The food was exquisite, yogurt and fruit at breakfast was wonderful and a really good range of Thai food freshly cooked and delicious.

We would not hesitate returning, jack can arrange trips, laundry - nothing is too much trouble and he's a great guy.

Room Tip: They all have sea views and sunrise opportunities

Just arrived yesterday in the afternoon. This place is brilliant. Locatet on the eastside of the island. Simple but well furnished bungalows, direct view to the sea, really friendly and helpfull couple who runs this place. Shower was leaking and got repeared immediatelly from the owner. Had a nice coffee and a awsome pancake for breakfast. Can realy recommend this place..!

Having read the previous reviews, this sounded perfect for us. We did book 3 nights but unfortunately only stayed one. The bungalows are very open which allows wildlife in. Yes, you have a good mosquito net but if you are a light sleeper, some of the larger creatures will disturb you. For me, the sea was so loud, crashing on the rocks, I could not sleep when the tide was in.

The hosts were amazing and the food and hospitality very good. The restaurant overlooks the sea and is a very relaxing place to stop for a while and eat but for me, not a place to stay for an undisturbed night sleep.

The location is remote but this can be a good thing. You can hire a motorbike and explore.

I can't rate this badly as the hosts were spot on but I don't think the other reviews here gave the full picture. It's not ideal if you need a quiet place to sleep.

After arriving before check in we were generously allowed to check in early after a night bus from Bangkok. The room's where basic but the most peaceful and relaxing accommodation we've experienced on our trip through Thailand and Vietnam. The owner's are an extremely nice couple, with a great taste in food (I highly recommend the chilli fried fish). We ended up eating most meals at the restaurant over the two days.
Overall highly recommend this accommodation, especially if you're after a relaxing holiday with an amazing view.

Panorama bungalow is a little bit of paradise on this noisy, crowded earth.
I chose the sea view bungalow, and it was a little piece of heaven.
I had a beautiful night -and I'm an extremely light sleeper-. I felt asleep whilst listening to the waves who were right next to my window !

The owner is just extremely nice ! Smiling all the time, extremely polite and always giving good advices :)

The restaurant is a must. It is definitely THE best food on the island, and it's on the best location !

As everybody said, arrange transportation before going there, because it's on the south east of the island, so where nobody goes (and that's why you need to go if you're looking for a quiet retreat !!)

See you soon, panorama bungalows !!!

We had such an amazing relaxing stay in our bungalow. We fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing in front of our bungalow. Amazing view of the see and island a couple hundred meters away. The owners were amazing and friendly. We also rented a scooter from them with no issues. The only issues we had was the location being so far away, we spent more on transport to get to the hotel and then back to the ferry than the cost of both nights at the hotel. There is also a curfew of 10pm which is nice for being quiet but also puts pressure on for getting home from dinner or exploring the island. Food was very good but a bit pricey. The room is also very basic so no hot water, aircon, fridge or any luxuries. This wasn't an issue as the room was very comfortable and the tranquillity of this place made up for this.
