“Excellent food - great fresh fish BBQ”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

We walked past this bar/restaurant a couple of times and then popped in one night. The upstairs is the bar area where they serve alcohol and the downstairs is no alcohol (it's owned by a Muslim family).

We went here twice and had excellent food each time. The fresh fish counter downstairs looked enticing and we were very happy with the excellent BBQ. The first time we ate BBQ squid and BBQ Tiger prawns which were both excellently cooked and very fresh.

The second time I had a duck in red curry with a coconut shake and it was beautiful! The food was served quickly and the owner spoke good English.

Keep up the good work!

“Worth the visit”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

We came to this place by accident as we needed a place for dinner and we had mostly read about the ice creams. We were also "invited" to come in by the staff at the entrance, which is usually a sign of an average restaurant, but not so here.

The ground floor is where all the cooking takes place and you can stay here, but you will not get any alcohol. To wash down the food with some beers or cocktails go to the first floor, where the atmosphere is also more chilled out and you can eat on the floor with some comfy cushions.

The food is really good, and a special mention goes to the grilled fish, which is as fresh as it gets. The prices are ok for what you get and the staff is particularly friendly and talkative.

If you are into football you can also enjoy some Premier League matches, although in that case it might be worth making sure you get a table with direct view of the screen.

“Nice place to eat. Great ice-creams”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

It was the closest restaurant to our hotel and I was glad my wife & I gave it a try. Ground floor was the alcohol free zone and on the 1st floor you could order the drinks. Both had AC and non-AC areas. We ended up having lunch & dinner on various occasions. Food was very good. Fruit juices and shakes were better. The main attraction was the home-made ice creams. Really delicious. They also had a special bbq at night where you could select the nice spread of fresh sea food. We tried the chicken satay, crab cake, mixed fried rice, watermelon jucie, banana shake, steaks, tom yum soups (plain & in coconut) and really liked it. Plus, of course, ice-creams. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Love to go there again. Cheers !

“Not bad but not great either.”
Reviewed 31 October 2013 via mobile

After reading all the great reviews we decided to give this place a try as we were staying at a hotel nearby. We sat upstairs and it does have a bit of a tree house feel.
The service was average. We got seated, they took the order and they brought us our food. We walked downstairs to pay our bill when we were finished. And that's that.
The duck curry was good but no wow factor for me. The duck was well seasoned and roasted but a little dry.
My husband ordered the red curry stir fried. It was good but again didn't stood out.

“Surprising place to have great ice-cream”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

Had a small meal here that was nicely presented, but the stand out was the ice-cream! I recommended to the owner that a sign needed to be put out on the roadside - Best Ice Cream in Thailand!
