“Uncrowded & Great "Coming of God" Sunsets”
Review of Khlong Khong Beach

Reviewed 10 April 2014

Lots of beach barbecue restaurants every night enough bars and beach side masseuses, but never overcrowded. Each evening's sunset was different and so amazing.

The atmosphere on the beach is great, especially in the evenings. But it's not the best for swimming because at low tide, the beach is very rocky. Make sure to bring those watershoes.

I stayed in a bungalow on Khlong Khong for 4 nights, but found the beach to be average. There are rocks in the water so you can't really go for a proper swim. They are very shallow as well. The sand is also covered in shells and rocks. It is not the most pleasurable beach to walk on. The crabs that scurry across the sand are cool though and so are the bars that line it. If you want to have a beach day though, this is not the place on Lanta.

There are rocks in the water. At hide tide we cannot see rocks, water is clear and sand is white at some places. At low tides there are many rocks, but it is different from other beach in Lanta. I enjoyed this place, not to swim, but to walk, and see differences at high and low tides. Many nice bars to stay at sunset, or during the day.

Firstly this beach is not good for swimming... but in every other regard it was my favourite on the island. The bars and restaurants are so cute, the lights and atmosphere at night is really nice. Sort of hippy vibe, unique as I haven't experienced this anywhere else in Thailand so far. And beautiful sunsets!
