“Outstanding and deserves all the praise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

Yet another voice to add to the praise for this resort. Fantastic surroundings, pristine hotel and facilities and every staff member went out of their way to make those small but important differences. We barely visted reception as the management were always available and eager to help. Perfect location in the middle of long beach, easy to walk out of the hotel and a wide choice of local restaurants, Thai massage, bars etc a short walk away and a tuk tuk back (mainly due to the heat than distance!). We ate very happily at the hotel a couple of times, at Lyms rice bowl twice but otherwise somewhere new to try the wide variety on offer here. Had some great treatments in the hotel spa, the boat trips were also a highlight - the sundowner cruise with the monkeys jumping from the trees into the water will not be forgotten soon, bliss. Really enjoyed the 4 island snorkelling trip as well, swimming into the cave to discover the cove on the other side was magical. Special thanks for my birthday dinner down on the beach, and happy birthday sung in Thai, wonderful. A class act and thoroughly deserving of the accolades and many return guests.

Room Tip: We moved from Ocean villa 1 to 2 - 1 was just too close to the pool/sunbathing area for our liking

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon and all I can say is wow, amazing from start to finish, all the staff do anything in their power to make it perfect, the location is amazing and you can walk along the beachfront for nice relaxing lunch or drink. You can take a tut tut which is very cheap to go into the town. This resort is luxury at its best, the private speedboat to take you there with the manager and staff awaiting your arrival on the beach, I was unfortunate to suffer sunburn in the first few days and they picked fresh aloe Vera plant to smooth on my skin, amazing and will love to return one day.

Room Tip: Don't request a beach front room if you value your privacy

We stayed there 9 days, nine days of dream.
This resort is a VIP resort, because each guest feel as a VIP.
Service- wondefull, all the staff is so professionnal and so nice. They will do anything to give the best service always with a big smile.
Rooms - we got a garden pavillon room, excellent. Allway clean, and they really though about every small details.
Restaurant - very high level . The food is excellent and chef Pitsanu is very nice and very professional, the restaurant management is perfect, Leon the manager take care of everything, i beleive that he could work " A la tour d'argent" in Paris without problem.
Beach bar- a lot of choice of cocktails, we recommand the coco loco. Between 5 and 7 happy hour half price.
The spa - very high level
The pool- very quiet with see view, the staff is wonderfull .
The beach- large, long, quiet with a lot of privacy.
Tours from hotel - the hotel propose many boat tours, all of them are interresting.
Car - Bike - it's possible to rent a car or a bike from the hotel, we rent a bike ( big one) for 450 bath a day, there is a smaller model for 350 bath.
Conclusion - the secret of this hotel is not only his beauty but his management, the head manager do an amazing job, he checks everything, every details, the selection of the employees is Also remarquable, we were in many good hotels in thailand but we never got a 100% of service like in this hotel. The hotel staff really make the difference.

Just go and enjoy.....

This hotel really is the perfect getaway..........

The staff are brilliant (friendly but efficient).
The hotel rooms and views are to die for.
The management constantly request your feedback in an effort to improve your stay.
The beach is quite simply a picture postcard with powder sand and clear water.

Lots of bars/restaurants along the beach - cheap with no tummy bug issues at any of the ones that we visited.
A short journey into Saladan (100baht) for shopping and the brilliant "The Frog" restaurant.

A great stay.

One Note though - DON'T do as we did and visit here via Phuket - it's a hell of a drive following such a long journey - MAKE SURE that you go via Krabi Airport.

Room Tip: No difference between the Garden View rooms and the Seaview rooms (actually the garden view rooms we...

What can we say about Layana Resort and Spa that has not already been said? From the moment you climb on board the hotel's beautiful speed boat to travel the twenty minute journey to Koh Lanta, from the mainland pier, the excitement and glamour of your holiday has begun. When you step ashore on a golden beach to a warm welcome by the Layana staff, a necklace of fresh flowers and a cool welcoming drink you know you've arrived in Paradise.
The staff of the hotel are all amazing. It would be simply impossible to single any one of the team out. Their welcoming smiles, their gentle hellos (sawadees), their dedicated service and attention to detail, ensure you feel a valued and well cared for guest. Hotel Manager, Stephan, leads his staff with great efficiency, warmth, good humour and professionalism. He, or one of his senior staff, is always on hand to ensure all runs smoothly at this superb hotel. Thanks to you all for your wonderful efficiency.
A beautiful, infinity pool looks out over the Andaman sea. Chose beach or poolside to relax and unwind, or be more adventurous and take one of the many excellent excursions offered by the hotel. You can always choose to sail the hotel catamaran if you find this relaxation too much to sustain.
Don't miss the Thai Buffet where there are a huge number of delicious starters., Thai salads, main courses and desserts on offer. Staff are on standby to cook a number of delicious dishes according to your choice. It's difficult to beat the fabulous sea views from the deck of the main restaurant, but if you feel like something even more informal then try Sands Bar just alongside the main restaurant.
This is a small hotel set in beautiful, peaceful and extremely well kept grounds. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the verandahs overlook the beautifully manicured gardens . There is a charming Spa where you can enjoy a wide range of treatments in relaxing surroundings. Visitors come from a wide number of locations and many come again and again. This was our second visit and we enjoyed it even more than the first. It's our idea of Paradise.

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful holiday. You arrive in style via a speed boat greeted very warmly by incredibly polite and genuine staff. The rooms are beautiful spacious clean and very comfortable. The attention to detail throughout our stay was first class nothing was too much trouble all the staff were very helpful and discreet. The sunset bar serves delicious cocktails with tasty nibbles to help them go down. The sunsets themselves are beautiful. The food is superb starting with breakfast where there is plenty of choice I highly recommend the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon! One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because it had a local dive centre based within it - phoenix divers which turned out to be superb complimenting the first class service of the hotel. The hotel beach is beautiful nice sun beds and a nice beach bed service. What we did hate was that the hotel allowed the pathetic behaviour of saving your subbed by putting a towel on it at some godly early hour very Benidorm! Having said that I would highly recommend this hotel it really is good value for money with outstanding staff.

Room Tip: All rooms excellent

We really loved this hotel. It delivered on so many fronts. If like us you are looking for quality accommodation and service, you probably won't do better. The service provided by the unfailingly cheerful and well trained staff deserves particular mention. We haven't felt so well looked after, well, ever really.

We stayed for 8 nights are were intentionally looking for a relaxing break so did very little other than swim, eat well and be pampered in the excellent spa. We did eat out in Saladan a couple of times and probably should have made the effort to leave the hotel more than we did. There is a huge choice of restaurants within a short tuktuk ride. The ones we tried were both very good and ridiculously cheap, given the quality of the food.

Food at Layana has had some mixed reviews. However, we enjoyed both the food and the fantastic setting of the restaurant. Hard not to enjoy yourself sitting right by the beach, or indeed right on it on one night,(BBQ). Sands, which is part of the hotel but much more informal with tables on the sand under trees was our lunch venue of choice. Lots of other places to choose from though if you fancy strolling up the beach a bit.

Quality hotels are often measured by the small things that are done really well. Layana understands this. When they say, as they do, let us know what we can do to make your stay extra special, they mean it. Nothing seemed much trouble. We will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in a ground floor garden pavilion which suited us. We couldn't see any real reason to...
