“Relaxing place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2013

We liked almost everything there; nice bungalow with the beach view, very good free wi fi, food and drinks not overpriced, good place if you need to relax. The only thing they have to look at is the towels!! They don't smel like they are fresh and clean even they change them every day they don't seems to be fresh. Also we ordered fish and sea food few times but they never had any in the restaurant, strange as this is what I was looking for on my holiday. I suspect it was because its not very popular and not worth stock in. Other food (chicken, curry was very good). Overall we were happy there, staff friendly, specialy housekeeping. I would come back there 100%

Dear Valued Guests

Once again my morning starts with an extra big smile after reading your review of your stay at Twin Bay Resort. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and always happy to read that the staff were friendly and helpful.

The two points you mentioned about the towels and seafood are very valid ones. The towels I agree have seen better days and I have already placed an order for new room and pool towels for each room. These will start to arrive during the low season and be completed by next high season. The seafood is another matter. As we end the high season and head into the low, we stopped doing our beach BBQ due to insufficient guests to make it viable. Seafood is best served fresh from the market rather than from the freezer so keeping it in stock with limited number of guests is not done.

Once again, thank you so much for taking the time to review Twin Bay and hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the not too distant future .

Best regards

The many previous positive reviews say it all.
We booked at Twin Bay for a week and ended up staying for nearly three. Ideally located on a quiet peninsula yet relatively close to the town of Saladan. We had a spacious room in garden setting and with a view to beach and bay. This in not a luxury resort and does not claim to be but we found it delightful and particulary appreciated the ever-friendly, smiling staff who seem to enjoy their workplace. We will definitely stay at Twin Bay when we return to Ko Lanta

Dear Valued Guests

Your review is Twin Bay in a nutshell. Obviously everybody's nutshells variy in shape and size but are all valued when received. Yet again I am delighted that the staff got a mention for their friendliness. It's the software more than the hardware that play the biggest part in Twin Bay's success.

As the season draws to an end, all at the resort would like to thank you and all that have spent time to review us and look forward to welcome you back on your next trip to Koh Lanta.

I only stayed 3 nights unfortunately at the lovely resort (I wish I had stayed there longer) as the resort was an excellent place to chill out and totally relax on holiday. The resort situated in between two bays has a great feel of being on a secluded island with a great swimming pool right on the beach. It felt like paradise in the jungle. The room was totally clean and everything worked. It was situated next to the beach with a nice secluded balcony where we could relax in private. The staff were friendly and made you feel at home. The restaurant and bar worked very well producing some delicious food and cocktails. For the price this hotel is a must. It lives up to its reputation of being a casual 3 star resort in a 5 star location.

It was my first visit to Thailand but certainly not my last. The resort is perfectly situated between the two bays and due to this it was never too hot, there was almost always a light breeze. The room was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. The reception was manned from early morning until evening. If there was anything you wanted or neaded, they would help you.
To Saladan it is a 15 minutes walk. If it was to hot to walk, they would get you a tuk tuk in no time.,
The breakfast buffet had something for every taste. For lunch or dinner the hotel restaurant was very good. Try the Seafood Pasta Thai Style!
The beach was clean and not at all crowded. At the resort the swimming pools were kept clean
There is a special pool for the children. The relaxed and calm atmosphere of the resort obviously was good for them - during our stay I heard no child cry or whine.
Twin Bay resort. Would I recommed it? Of course! Will I go back? Absolutely!

There may be better hotels but they all charge much more. At Twin Bay there is everything you need in a perfect location. If there is anything you need or want to know, then just ask the friendly staff. Our room did not have a kettle or an English plug adapter - but within two hours of asking they were there. The rooms were clean and very comfortable and otherwise fully equipped. The main village/town - Saladan - is only a short distance away and has some good seaside restaurants if you want a change from eating at the hotel's (very good though it is) restaurant. Several times we took the free 6pm hotel minibus into town and tuk-tuk back. We also had a speed boat trip from the beach - snorkeling, etc.- that was fantastic, but cost extra! Anyway, five stars for excellent value.

Room Tip: I suppose a beachfront bungalow is a bonus, but we were next row back and that was fine.

Dear Valued Guests

Thank you very much for taking your time to write a review of your stay at Twin Bay. Once again i am delighted to see that my staff get praise for their friendliness and efficiency in serving. I agree there are better resorts at a higher price but i am sure they do not afford such a lovely location as we have here.

Glad that you enjoyed the food here and it is natural that guests go outside to eat to enjoy the many variations on offer in Saladan and around the island.

I look forward to welcoming you back in the not too distant future.

The rooms were all clean and equipped with a decent bed and bathroom the pool was nice and it does have a fantastic view over the bay however if you travel a bit further down the coast of Koh Lanta you can find some nice bungalow accommodation for a cheaper price. The food menu was also a bit limited as there wasn't a vegetarian Thai option which is a shame.

Dear Valued guests

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review of your stay at Twin Bay. As with all reviews, i take the good and the bad and combine them to improve where we can. I agree the vegetarian section on the menu is limited and something that needs to be addressed for the next high season menu planning. I also agree the views of the bay are lovely, that is why i repositioned ourselves on our website as a casual 3 star in a 5 star location.

Indeed there are cheaper accommodation further south but they do not offer the privacy and beach that Twin bay affords. i guess each person has different requirements and unfortunately we did meet yours on the rate side of things.

Anyhow, thanks once again and hope to see you back here on lanta in the not too distant future.

I stayed here with my son and his family for 4 days in mid February. We arrived after a long trip by bus and ferry from Krabi, to find there was no record of our reservation. This error on the part of the booking agent, and not the hotel. was very professionally handled and rectified quickly by John. We were very grateful for his prompt action, having arrived tired and hot with two small children anxious to try the pool!

We were upgraded to two lovely beach front bungalows . They were clean, spacious and comfortable. They had spacious verandahs where you could sit and have your morning coffee and watch the activity on the beach. At night, it was lovely to sit out there and listen to the ocean and watch the squid boats on the horizon.

The whole place had a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The pool and bar area were very pleasant and again ideal for families with small children. The area is geared to Scandinavian visitors and we met some very interesting fellow vacationers.

We thought the food was excellent and ended up eating all our meals ( We mainly chose the Thai food) at the outdoor restauarant rather than go out elsewhere. The barbecue on the beach was a pleasant change too and efficiently organized. The staff looked after us expertly and made sure we had all we needed. The mango, coconut and pineapple shakes at the bar are well worth trying.

The beach is very peaceful. Twin Bay is located further up the beach from all the other hotels that are packed in side by side further down the beach. We found this to be a more relaxing and less crowded experience. It is also a great jogging beach. The hotel is also walkable to and from town.

The lack of waves at that time of year, makes the beach ideal for small children.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing time, and good value for money, then look no further than Twin Bay Resort.

Room Tip: The deluxe bungalows on the beach front are lovely. I stayed in room 33 which had a very spacious v...

I've just tucked into my hearty breakfast and spotted your review. That is the proverbial icing on the cake for this mornings breakfast. A delight as always to see such positive comments about the resort and my hard working team. I am particularly happy to see some praise for the Thai food and the BBQ. Thai food is a difficult one as each guest has their own palate and it is always hard to please all. Some say it is excellent, some say it is bland ?

Anyhow, my day has started well and hopefully will continue in the same vein after reading your lovely review. I do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you all back in the not too distant future.
