Good:
- beautiful view from room in case of sea view room
- nice area (but also see below)

Ok, but not more:
- pool and pool area
- location, pretty far away from everything

Not so good:
- service, quality of staff (friendly, but inexperienced and lack of English knowledge)
- own beach (the nice beach is 15 minutes away)
- a lot of stairs everywhere
- Internet, it's (lack of) speed

Room Tip: If you go there, select sea view!

We stayed here in two different bungalows, the sea view and the beach front. They were both very nice bungalows. However, I think the beach front with its jacuzzi was overpriced by quite a bit.

If you are lucky enough to have your bungalow near the restaurant you might still have internet connection in your room. But I wouldn't count on it. The free wireless is otherwise available at the restaurant and front office.

The breakfast was good and the service was very friendly.

The resort also has its own bar which we didn't try.

There is a swimming pool with an OK size, some nice areas to relax and a small private beach which wasn't busy at all. We didn't try to go into the water from here as it was quite rocky.

We had once dinner at the restaurant which was quite a disappointment. There are so many nice little places at the next larger beach which serve much better food at half the price.
We also rented a scooter from the resort for 300 THB / 24h. That was a great way to get around the island.

We stayed for 4 nights in a canal view room, it was fantastic! The room was a really good size with a little balcony over hanging the canal bank. The staff were really lovely and spoke great English- which I never expect from people when I visit their home country. The pool area was stunning with stairs down to a little private beach, not really for swimming as a bit rocky but still special. They have a wonderful bar too which overhangs the rocks and has big beanbags to chill out on under the stars. The restaurant served great food at reasonable prices. The only issue for some might be the location as it is at the top of a hill all by itself and a little way away from anything else.... But with a motorbike it is no problem. They also have a free shuttle to the beach a few times a day. Overall a beautiful looking resort with some really special features, great staff and clean rooms. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Great little resort this, we were recommended it by our agent Andaman Sky as a quiet little place with a great atmosphere and views, and they were right, it was just what we were looking for. Good value too, and a good base for taking excursions from as well – we went to snorkel Koh Rok, which was really good, and we also went on the 4 Islands trip which included the Emerald cave, which is stunning – you get to swim through a tunnel into a lagoon, just like in a pirate movie. The resort’s restaurant is a good one, which was just as well because it isn’t easy to walk to anywhere else to eat. All good, here – recommend you book one of the more expensive rooms though, as the ones with garden views looked to have a mozzie problem to me, plus were certainly rather gloomy.

My boyfriend and I often stay in hotels which we always say we will comment on but somehow never get round to it. However, we just had to comment on Moonlight Bay Resort because our stay from begining to end really was outstanding. The prices were a third of what we had been paying in other resorts and the staff, who really made the experience, were so friendly and really couldn't do enough for you. We stayed in a lovely little bungalow, which was clean, comfortable and full of character. We only planned to stay 2 nights but decided to extend our stay because we were made to feel so welcome and the resort was so peaceful and relaxing - we really felt like we were on holiday! We would like to say a personal thank you to all of the staff at Mooonlight Bay Resort for making us feel so welcome and our stay truley special (Win and Pai (Kai Hui) in particular). We would recommend this resort to anyone looking for friendly service and a tranquil experience. The food was also amazing!

This resort could be so much better, they need to demolish the " mangrove swamp " chalets and improve the others. We paid top price for the sea view jacuzzi villa, based on previous trip advisor reviews, although the room was a bit of a let down with poor furnishings and a terribly hard bed, like elsewhere in Thailand, "Yes", is the common answer to everything, even though hardly anyone speaks English, even worse down here in Koh Lanta, ( which overall is disapponting too ) yet Yes means nothing more often than not, so any request goes unanswered, e.g. like can we have a mattress topper - " Yes ", but never materialised after 6 nights !
The sea view is great, and you can access the sea also, we swam there every day, so don't be put off by the " rocks", in fact we never used the beach just down the road. The Rocky bar is also good and a great place to wind down at night. The restaurant is poor, as are most in Koh Lanta and overall I found the staff to be poor too, apart from Saly (and Ken who tries too). Shame it has so much potential.

Room Tip: Pay for a sea view or hill top, don't get a swamp room unless you never get bitten by mossies.
