“Excellent resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2014

It's worth to pay some extra money to have a beachfront bungalow, at least when you are on the honeymoon. The view is unforgettable. You can wake up with sea view, also you can watch the sunset when you are relaxing at the jacuzzi. The room was clean, airconditioned and quiet.

Bartender of rockybar was a great guy, always smiling and friendly. The beach is rocky but you may see some colourful fish near the rocks when snorkling.
I have nothing bad word to say about this resort, I would visit again. Staff is friendly, smiling and very helpful. The resort is nearby the Klong Nin beach which we found the best beach in Koh Lanta. You can also rent a motorbike from the hotel, so it's quite handy. Rent was 300 baht per day. From the resort is also a transport to Kong Nin beach twice a day.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 week (then moved to Phi Phi and after that to Phuket and finished in Krabi). Ko Lanta and this Moonlight hotel was the best part in our trip. The staff in Moonlight is really good. They speak good English (in other hotels it was really difficult to understand the staff and viceversa) and the room was also perfect. We stayed in Sea View Bungalow. Most cheap room is Canal View Bungalow (view for the river, not so good one). If you really don´t want to spend lot of money, take Canal View room, but you still get lot out of the hotel. Restaurant, the pool, after dinner Beach bar are worth the money :) Beach bar barmen was perfect! Rent roller from the hotel (6 eur per day) and explore the island! I don´t suggest to rent roller in Phuket or in Krabi. Too dangerous. But in Ko Lanta the traffic is OK and the island is perfect!

Room Tip: Canal View - if you don´t want to spend money. Hill top view - OK rooms, but no view to the sea. S...

Good:
- beautiful view from room in case of sea view room
- nice area (but also see below)

Ok, but not more:
- pool and pool area
- location, pretty far away from everything

Not so good:
- service, quality of staff (friendly, but inexperienced and lack of English knowledge)
- own beach (the nice beach is 15 minutes away)
- a lot of stairs everywhere
- Internet, it's (lack of) speed

Room Tip: If you go there, select sea view!

We stayed here in two different bungalows, the sea view and the beach front. They were both very nice bungalows. However, I think the beach front with its jacuzzi was overpriced by quite a bit.

If you are lucky enough to have your bungalow near the restaurant you might still have internet connection in your room. But I wouldn't count on it. The free wireless is otherwise available at the restaurant and front office.

The breakfast was good and the service was very friendly.

The resort also has its own bar which we didn't try.

There is a swimming pool with an OK size, some nice areas to relax and a small private beach which wasn't busy at all. We didn't try to go into the water from here as it was quite rocky.

We had once dinner at the restaurant which was quite a disappointment. There are so many nice little places at the next larger beach which serve much better food at half the price.
We also rented a scooter from the resort for 300 THB / 24h. That was a great way to get around the island.

We stayed for 4 nights in a canal view room, it was fantastic! The room was a really good size with a little balcony over hanging the canal bank. The staff were really lovely and spoke great English- which I never expect from people when I visit their home country. The pool area was stunning with stairs down to a little private beach, not really for swimming as a bit rocky but still special. They have a wonderful bar too which overhangs the rocks and has big beanbags to chill out on under the stars. The restaurant served great food at reasonable prices. The only issue for some might be the location as it is at the top of a hill all by itself and a little way away from anything else.... But with a motorbike it is no problem. They also have a free shuttle to the beach a few times a day. Overall a beautiful looking resort with some really special features, great staff and clean rooms. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Great little resort this, we were recommended it by our agent Andaman Sky as a quiet little place with a great atmosphere and views, and they were right, it was just what we were looking for. Good value too, and a good base for taking excursions from as well – we went to snorkel Koh Rok, which was really good, and we also went on the 4 Islands trip which included the Emerald cave, which is stunning – you get to swim through a tunnel into a lagoon, just like in a pirate movie. The resort’s restaurant is a good one, which was just as well because it isn’t easy to walk to anywhere else to eat. All good, here – recommend you book one of the more expensive rooms though, as the ones with garden views looked to have a mozzie problem to me, plus were certainly rather gloomy.
