As others have noted, the beach is littered with garbage and the sea is quite rough at the moment. The businesses here along the beach should make a concerted effort to work together to clean this up and reduce the use of single use plastics. Every business uses plastic bags even when they're not needed. A lot of the bars and resorts are closed for renovations.

We stayed at the Ravi Warin Resort close to this beach for 4nights . It was the start of monsoon season with a lot of rain, strong winds and high waves.

We found Beach front services shut down, deserted. The beach was full of garbage ( natural and loads of plastic ). Unsafe for swimming due to high waves.

This place must be very different during calm dry season based on other reviews.

We were staying at Lanta Casuarina and I would advise not to waste your money and trip coming to this island during low season. We hardly get to swim or enjoy the beach because the sea was rough, waves were strong and it's dangerous to swim. I was taking a stroll on the beach in the morning and it was a very disappointing sight. Rubbish were everywhere and puffer fish were washed to the shore. It was absolutely a horrendous sight. I don't remember seeing this much of rubbish on the shore in my country! It's like the sea is purging out all the rubbish it collected during high season and it was a stretch of ugly sight to behold on long beach. I'm ashamed. Again, please reconsider if you want to travel to this island during low season because a lot of island hopping trips are closed due to the rough sea and bad weather. There is nothing much you can do and the sea..... It's not as beautiful. We spent most of our time at the pool and exploring other beaches on the island but no swimming. The condition of other beaches are the same as long beach, dirty.

Thankfully, there are a group of volunteers and locals helped to clean up the beach on Sunday and it keep the beach clean. There is a photo above which shown the beach after it's being cleaned.

I'm very thankful to these group of people and if you happened to read this review, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart and we are very appreciative towards your effort in keeping the beach clean.

This beach is beautiful, well worth a visit. We came after the close of season but it's still 32° but feels like 41°. Everywhere has a room so it's well worth bartering for a cheap price in a really nice place.

It was so, so quiet and great for us to hang around. No people on the beach in beginning of Nov. A few restaurants further up the road and amazing ambience.
