“Good Second Choice”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

As we are still holidaying in Thailand, I thought I might as well write this while it is still fresh. Right on the beach, this is a quality resort in every aspect at sold at a good price point. It was our second choice really - - we normally stay at the Pimalai Resort in a Pavillion Suite, booked through andaman aventuures so we are sure to get an oceanfront unit (had disappointments booking ourselves and getting a second row unit - same price!) but for a second choice it performed very well !!
We had a great time on Koh Lanta as usual, went on alot of FUN excursions booked right at the Rawi Warins front desk.

We found Rawi Warin to be a perfect fit for 2 adults and 1 eleven year old boy. Great facilities, friendly staff and close to local restaurants and bars,( if you like the local food like we do).

The breakfast is first class and toiletries are some of the nicest we have come across. It was our first visit and want be our last. The next time we plan on doing some tours if we can mamage to leave the pool area.

I can't rate this place enough. The staff speak English and are very helpful. The grounds and our double room was beautiful, not so good if your not fit though as we had to walk up 100 steps into the hill to get to it. Complimentary water and fruit everyday and the inclusive breakfast was amazing with food to cater to all.

Room Tip: If you don't want a room in the hills then book a pond view room.

Stayed five nights in a pond room (actually not facing the pond itself but still very nice). Spacious, very clean room, goid housekeeping. Had problems with aircon but after asking it was fixed.
Resort locks all kinds of guests: young and middleaged couples and families from Europe and Asia.
Breakfast was good, tea and coffee served at the table.
Restaurant is ok, nothing special ( big portions!). In Saladan you'll find tastier and cheaper food, taxi or tuktuk will get you there in 20-25min and 300 thb. We tried Black Pirot and Lanta Seafood, both very good.
Also went to 4 Island trip which was not worth time or even money. Snorkeling was ok but Koh Kradan a huge disappointment!Small beach with lots of trash and too many people and boats. I was told though that Koh Rok snorkeling trip was good, maybe next time.
As a whole, I recommend Rawi Warin warmly, we had wonderful holiday there.

Very nice hotel : very nice villas and houses, with very well looked after gardens and rather big pond. The pool is very nice also with it´s view on the sea yet a bit packed when we were there (great for families with children).
We took a first category bedroom I guess : 45m2 view on the sea, it was very nice for 2300 baths/ night (breakfast including). Good quality room and bedroom. We were very satisfied with the room.
What is bad is the management of the hotel!!! They have adorable staff, trying their best, but you can tell they have not been trained!
After 4 days you get fed up, they would for example, forget to bring you the menu, the spoon with the soup, the salt is missing or empty, they forget to bring me a dish, etc

Once again, they are lucky because they have a really lovely staff but just not trained for what they do!

I do not know if I will go back just for this lack of experience the staff is suffering from.

A group of 5 adults booked 3 Deluxe Rooms for 2 nights this week. When we arrived at 11:00am to check in, we were told to come back in 2 hours to get our rooms. We returned in 2 hours and were told that no rooms were available. We waited in reception another hour, then were told they would upgrade us for free to a Villa that was available. We were then told the GM did not allow this so we would have to wait longer. An hour later they said they had rooms available, we went to see the rooms and the previous guests HAD NOT EVEN CHECKED OUT YET! Their items were still in the room that was "now ready". Finally, we said we would upgrade to the Villa that was available and asked for a discount in order to upgrade. They were not happy to negotiate and were not sorry that the original rooms were not available. Finally, we agreed to pay their price to upgrade and we got the Villa. It was beautiful and we ordered Room Service (5 Steaks, Desserts, Appetizers, Salads). An hour and a half later the food arrived COLD WITHOUT ANY UTENSILS OR PLACE SETTINGS!! The waitress told us she would go get utensils and was "surprised no one had come set it up". We waited another 20 minutes for the utensils, but had already started trying to eat our cold steaks.

Luckily our group had a sense of humor to not get so upset over this when we were paying FIVE STAR PRICES.

We tried to speak to the General Manager but he was never available. We asked for half of the food to be discounted as it arrived in an un-eatable condition. They would not discount this. Instead, they offered us a free transfer to the airport in the end.

This property has beautiful grounds, great breakfast, and amazing rooms - but the Service is so bad that I would literally not recommend it to anyone. If I could pay a 3 Star price I would be okay with it, but we paid in full.

Room Tip: Do not go here.

We stayed here for 8 days on our honeymoon in March 2012. We got nice room on the hills, with the stunning view over the beach and sea. It was quite off season time and resort was very quiet. The beach side was kind a rocky and there was no possibilities to swim by the beach, large infinity pool was good enough.
When you go to Lanta it's good to rent a scooter and take daytrips to different islands situated near to Lanta. It's quite easy to jump in to those speedboats from Rawi's sea pier, much easier than from beach.
