When I arrived in Koh Lanta, I at once like this place, this island, and especially this hotel Lanta Palace. The staff in hotel is friendly, respectful and always ready to help. Location is perfect, for people who like quiet places. Price of the room is really acceptable, and the sea is something, you can swim for many hours, it is so clean and warm you just don’t want to go out. Some people could complain about facilities in hotel, but for this price everything looks really good. Of course people are different and what likes one, maybe doesn’t like other. I just want to repeat - I like this place and like this hotel. And I would like to come back again and again.

on arrival in Lanta. passed loads of nice places.. and then we turned down a side alley way, smelly and rubbish around... to get to the hotel... at first sight nothing amazing from the car park.. apart from 2 caged monkeys. we were expecting a bungalow but got given 2 back rooms that connected... not amazing... hot water didn't work in one and the other seem to get eaten alive my mosquito's.. considering the location of the resort... you would not know from our room we were by the sea.. restaurant was satisfactory and we ate well there... lunch time we arrived it was packed.. and felt like a resort in costa del sol and then evening amazingly was quiet.. cocktails on beach side OK and reasonable pool.... even if you have 1st row bungalows accomodation itself is pretty lacking... but when you pay what one does OK... all be it we were part of a tour group and expected alot more for what we had paid...3 nights here, but very happy to move to Koh Hai..!

Room Tip: try to get a bungalow and not one of the back rooms.-. which have a grotty rear view of everything...

What a falsified place! We arrived there and were disguisted by the smell and rubbish all over the entrance. We then decided to give it a "shot" and checked in at the filfy reception in which we weren't acknowledged never mind greeted! Once dragging out luggage to our rooms- my bed was bearly made properly, no bath towels, curtains closed with stains all over, leaking toilet and a damp odour. The food was gross, everything was horrible! Not recommended at all. Staff service was disgusting! What was a "sea view" which was requested ) months in advance was a view of chickens and the staff courters.

Great location on its own private beach. Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms basic but comfortable. Food is OK but there are better places to eat nearby. Don't understand why some other reviewers complained about bugs - umm it's in Thailand!

We didn't like this place at all.
We payed an equivalent of £30 per night which is completely overpriced for what you get in comparison with other local hotels.
The rooms are average, clean but old and in need of a refurb. The location is nicely on the beach but its let down in every other aspect.
The rooms aren't cleaned unless you specifically request it, which makes you feel like your nagging.
The food is poor and you have to go elsewhere for a decent meal. There is a lady that cooks street food by the 7/11 outside the hotel which is fantastic.
The biggest downside tho is the service, particularly the reception staff. They sit on there computers and phones too engrossed to realise your there, and when they do they act as tho your interrupting them. The men in particular are lazy and snappy and make you feel completely unwelcome, they give you single word answers and offer no help unless its absolutely necessary, whilst blatantly talking about you among themselves.
Generally a really deflating experience staying here.
Not recommended..

Excellent location in the middle of the island on Klong Nin beach. The owner and his family and all of the staff are superb in their service and helped me with anything I needed. Restaurant, food and facilities were all first class, breakfast included in the price of the room. The rooms are maintained to an exceptionally high standard and cleaned regularly every morning with clean sheets and pillow cases. Hot showers in the rooms along with air con, television, kettle and fridge which made it home from home. Swimming pool was spotless and the beach which was right next to the swimming pool was fantastic with beautiful views and scenery. All in all I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone and it was fantastic value for money with exceptional hospitality. The resort is ideal for families, couples or singles due to the good atmosphere.

First I would like to say this hotels location is prime and it is sad to say it was one of the worst hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay in . On arrival we were first shocked by the dirt of the reception and all the hotel staff playing on their phones and ipads, who had not the time to notice us until they were finished. We eventually were shown to our bungalow where it was fine in the bedroom but the bathroom was a disgrace. But we decided to rough it and thought it to be fun, that was the worst decision we could have made.

Outside the place looked ran down and down right dirty. The beach was just filthy also and no effort to clean it up. The swimming pool was cloudy and very uninviting. Half the deck chairs were broken and what they called the resturant was laughable. It was the worst attempt of a construction site which blew a load of crap across the area where people were eating.
Inside the room at night was more like a zoo then a bedroom. I am well aware there is going to be insects and a couple of cockroches in the bungalow, but this was pure madness. We woke up to find cockroches in the bed, something I was quite surprised at. So we turned on the light and my girlfriend jumped about like she was at an Indian rain dance. With lizards on the walls around the whole bungalow, cockroches running around the floor (no exaggeration I had killed 18 and there were still some running about) and the mosquitos had brought their friends and were having a feast on my feet. The room was also like a sauna where the aircon though making alot of noise, did'nt do anything.

All in all I tought it could not get any worse until breakfast and I asked for a pineapple juice. It was handed to me with ants crawling on the glass. Ok this can happen, but what was not so forgiving was the amount of ants in the glass crushed up with the fruit and ice. That was it, off season or not, this place was a tip.

Room Tip: There are plenty of other hotels which are slightly more expensive further south .
