“Perfect place to chill out”

Lovely resort with very friendly owners and super clean rooms. Just a 3 minute walk to the beach and the same for amenities.

The aircon in the room saved us from the heat! We got breakfast included with our stay and it was delish both mornings (bacon and eggs, muesli, banana and yoghurt). :)

Delighted we stayed here. Great value for money.

We stayed 2 nights off season in the big bungalow (2 bedrooms). Overall a good choice with very good value for money. A special compliment to the owners, who were really helpful satisfying our last minute demands. (Baby cot, airport transfer booking, laundry, early breakfast).

With a choice of AC or Fan room's Mook Lanta has a Clean and Comfortable Resort. Run by a friendly and welcoming British couple that will go the extra mile without batting an eyelid.
Mook Lanta is a beautiful site of cabins suspended on stills only a 5 minute walk from the beach!
With a smashing English Breakfast to rival any in the south of Thailand and a choice of others if thats not your thing.
Free Coffee, Tea and water throughout the day was a very welcoming touch, not to mention the on site Bar!
With quiz, poker nights and also a selection of board games for those Rainy days or nights you get a real feeling of involvement within the resort!
Each room has en suite, Cable TV, WiFi and a big mosquito net and found the Fan rooms to be very comfortable!
They also rent out transportation you can trust at a good price. And Nick saved our bacon in the pickup when the scooter broke down on Ramadam on the other side of the island!
Very Relaxing stay and ended up extending longer then planned. I would definitely return next time I'm on Koh Lanta and will be recommending to Friends and Family.
Almost forgot to mention Satellite TV at the bar for news and sport.

Fantastic stay 10/10

Unfortunately our stay here wasn't particularly pleasant but of no fault of the owners.

Me and the boyfriend read all the fantastic reviews on here and the lovely photos and decided to book, but with keeping in our budget we booked a room with a fan.
This was the first and last place we booked with a fan instead of air conditioning.
We visited in April and never noticed just how hot it was until we tried to sleep in our little Mook Lanta Hut.
This is probably the only reason that made our stay here so bad, one day we got so sunburnt we didn't want to go outside and the mix of that and a fan circulating hot air around a small hut was just unbearable. Hangovers and a fan assisted room is also a bad idea, especially the type of hangover you get from a cocktail based beach party.

Anyway on to the positives because there was a lot of great things about Mook Lanta.
Location; although it is a way out from the main town you can get a tuk tuk there in 10 minutes so that is fine. The Mook lanta bungalows are literally a 2 minute walk from long beach which is absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful.
If you walk up towards the road, the highly rated Red Snapper tapas restaurant is just a few minutes away and this really is as good as the reviews say.

The bungalows themselves are on stilts right in the middle of these stunning gardens, the stilts I presume are to keep creatures and such out and worked surprisingly well.

The owners were lovely, we only met them once as we were either out an about or on one occasion (when I was ill) stayed in all day. However, when we first arrived our booking with Asia web hadn't come through to them yet, luckily there was a spare bungalow and they didn't bat an eyelid and sorted it straight out for us.

The bungalow itself was very quaint with little shutters and the bed made out of the same wood the rest of the hut was.
One thing I would say is that it is pretty dark in the bungalows with there only being one light and the wood itself is dark so doesn't reflect anything back
The bathroom is a little dated, but what you have to remember is that you are in a beach bungalow not a hotel.

I would recommend this place because it really is nice and a lovely change to staying in hotels but I would definitly pay that bit extra and get an air con room.

Room Tip: Pay that extra for air con!

Hi Tara

I am sorry that your stay on Lanta was not perfect and maybe I could have helped with that. Even on a cloudy day here in Lanta, the sun is strong and can make you feel unwell too. But I am a first aid instructor and always have a well stocked first aid kit which can help or I can send you to someone more qualified to assist you.

Please always feel free to ask us to upgrade your room if you are uncomfortable and we will try to accommodate this.

And next time, more water and sun tan lotion.

Hopefully see you again

We stayed here for a few nights in February - it was a great base for us and close to the beach and main road. The bungalows are all elevated and there is a walkway through the middle, very pretty spot.

We didn't get a chance to properly meet the owners as we were up early each day to dive and we went out in the evenings.

Would recommend.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and I apologise for not being around when you were about. But we are in a wonderful location in some beautiful gardens only a minutes walk from the beach, bars, restaurants and shops.

Next time you return, come back ask for me and we will share a beer or two!

First of all this is a very belated review - we stayed in January 2014. We stayed here towards the end of a months' travelling around Thailand and Cambodia. We did not realise the owners were English until arrival, so this was a nice surprise.

The resort is probably my joint favourite of the places we visited and stayed at whilst travelling. Our room was lovely, we chose one with air conditioning. All of the rooms are wooden bungalows, and they look so nice surrounded by greenery and banana trees with just a walkway through the middle.
We had a balcony with French windows, and I liked the decor internally with lots of nice little detail.
I don't remember any issues with the bed, unlike previous reviews, and I normally like soft beds.

This resort for us, was an unexpected relaxation after 3 weeks of hectic travelling.

We ate breakfast everyday, and yes English breakfast is served (and English tea!) which was a nice surprise. Only basics are included in the breakfast and you are to pay extra if you fancy anything additional, but this didn't phase us.
We were able to eat lunch a few times here, but only an evening meal once as we wanted to explore other restaurants around the area. This has no bearing on the food quality - it was good!

We also enjoyed drinks at the bar. The service is really good. Nick and Mellisa are very helpful and we chatted with them quite a lot. The other staff are really good too, especially Maow (sorry if spelt wrong); always in good humour.

The resort is located very close to the beach, only two minutes away. It's tucked away from the busy main road, but only 5 minutes walk to other shops, restaurants and a 7-11.

I remember that the power did go off a couple of times during our stay - but that was all part of the experience for us, and not something that we would complain about! After all, it's not something that Nick or Mellisa could control.

After recommendation from their in-room guide book, we booked the 4 island tour, which was nearly a full day trip, I think. We really enjoyed this although the sea was really rough on the day we did it - never mind.
Another day, Mellisa hired us one of their in-house bikes, and we spent a fair few hours exploring the island. This was one of my favourite parts, there are only about 4/5 main roads to the island, and they are so pleasant to ride around. We went around the whole island in this time; it is beautiful.

Our onward travel was also organised from here, with no bother at all.

I would really recommend to stay here if you are looking at Ko Lanta. Ko Lanta itself was also one of our favourite places to go, so if we come back to Thailand, we will re-visit.

That was a very belated review!!!! but who cares, it makes my day to receive reviews like this. I am glad we made you stay wonderful, that is what we try to do with everyone. Electricity on the island, can be erratic, but we try to make the best of it and electric bingo is a favourite pastime of ours!

Thank you for making me smile today.

We stayed for 6 nights at mook lanta. The bungalow was a nice size and very clean. The bathroom was a huge wet room but with dated decor. For breakfast there are a number of choices but only 3 are included in the room price. For the rest extra needs to be paid. The hosts were great to speak with and offer so much local knowledge. They helped us with finding a diving school to get our qualification and also with places to eat..(mays kitchen is amazing). I would stay here again because of the hosts.

Thank you so much for this review, we do try our best and we love it when it helps make your holiday even better.

Nick, my husband, prides himself on serving a good breakfast here, so we do not offer cheap chicken sausages or sugary bread but good quality bacon, ham, sausages and bread. He also likes to offer a bit more for the more hungry, so the normal 3 choices (Healthy (Muesli, Banana, Yoghurt), English (Eggs, Bacon and Toast) or Continental (Eggs, Ham and Toast), usually are fine for most, but there are some extras if you fancy a bit more.

Thanks so much for your review
